My girlfriend bought me a 67 firebird convertible for xmas. This is a cool forum, so I'm goin to post my build as it gets closer to doing its first burnout....The rendering is what she gave me under the xmas tree...

LoL... no... no sister, she is by herself. She is the daughter of the owner of Barry's speed shop. We did the TV show "wrecks to riches" a few years back... This firebird was the next car inline for the show before they cut bugget on us... She bought it from her dad for $500.00, not too bad but it was only half a car...lol

Glad to see another bird on this forum. Kind of tired of reading about camaros. :)

I was wondering if you were connected to Barry's in anyway. Saw a reference to Barry's in your girlfriend X-mas gift note.

Awesome and congrats! Good luck on your 'bird. I'll be doing similar types of things to my '67 Bird, so I look forward to seeing what you do and hopefully learning from it.

Welcome, Yes good to see another Pontiac on board. Girlfriend sounds like a keeper, especially since her dad is the owner of Berry's Speed Shop.

I hope you are planning to keep it Pontiac powered.

This link is to a good Pontiac site.

Thanks everyone! Ya they are both keepers.
We have a fresh 326 Pontiac with a mild cam just settin in the shop. I'm not lookin for alot of power, more just a car that will handle very good. So I'll stick that engine in it with fuel injection and a 5 or 6 speed and just have fun with it.

Little update... Finshed installing the floor pans. I installed the powder coated subframe and 12 bolt rear end we got from a 69 camaro built in the shop. Also installed a pair of GWS subframe conectors with their soild mounts. I'll post some pics if I can remeber what site I used to upload....

Nice project,

Please keep us in the loop on your rust repairs. I am currently tackling the exact same issues as you showed in your pic's (above).

Particularly interested in how you will resolve that 'complex shape' in the door-sill (my passenger side is shot in the exact same place).

I am toying with the idea of finding a clean piece of a wrecked Lemans and welding it in. Are you planning to fab up a piece for that?

Wow, I havn't posted for awhile. So far I have the front sub frame and all the new global west/qa1 front suspension installed. The rear quarters are about 90% complete. I have full tubs in it now. I have been spending a lot of time with the rear suspension. Basically I have a firebird with an "a" body rear link set up with coil overs. It's something we at the shop have been wanting to try. So far it's looking good. There is a lot of fitting and getting all angles correct. It's kinda cool, I can use anyones "a" body rear suspension kit. Right now I'm using global west's kit, we has one sittin at the shop.

BTW, is the front spoiler made by spoilersbyrandy.com?

If you carried the stripe all the way to the trunk, you stole my idea! :-) (Except when I finally get to do mine it will be white to match my white interior and top). Looks great! What wheels are those?

The front suspension is all GWS coil-over. The rear is one-off based from GM A-body using GWS parts and coil-overs. So far it rides good. We havn't autocrossed it yet. The engine is a bad subject. We put is a pontiac 326, mild port to the heads, ez-efi, headers, intake, ect... About 10 miles into the car being driveable we spon a bearing, broke 4 rods and put about 7 holes into a brand new 7qt Moroso oil pan :( Right know we are bulding a pontiac 406 with alum. heads. I'll get some more pics
