I bought a set of used Boyd Smoothie II wheels. I was cleaning them up tonight and found this. On the surface, it doesn't look too bad. I just wanted opinions on how bad and what you think I should do.

With so many cars having alloy wheels these days there are plenty of places that repair bent and damaged alloys.

Looks like an easy fix.

There's a mobil wheel guy that can repair that for not too much and it'll look good as new. I'll get his contact info for you tomorrow, a guy I work with just recently used him to fix his BMW wheels.

Cool, I appreciate it. I'd like to straighten it out because I think I'm going to replace that tire anyway.

My rims looked the same way after I hit a pothole. I took them to a repair shop and now they look brand new. It did cost me about $100 for both rims.

If you're good with a hammer and have a 2x4 handy, I've seen many rims fixed that way. Be sure to have it rebalanced after it's repaired. As others have said there are also wheel repair places that will fix it for you. It's definitely fixable and in no need of being re-hooped.

JeffT, I really appreciate the info.

I figured I'd try the 2X4 and hammer between the tornado warnings tonight. Darned if it didn't round out very nicely. I'll take it up to my brother in law's shop and re-balance it to check it out but I think it's fine now.

Again, thanks to all of you for the input.

I just bought some used 20in rims for my Caddy SLS and am going through the same issue. The cheapest i found was $100 a wheel so you got a deal! lol! Too bad the roads around here are CRAP! :bsjerk:
