does Toyota come to mind? j/k all b/s aside buy US, better material better quality and yes it will save someone's job. On something so critical are you willing to put your life on the line to save a buck or two? I used to work at a firestone station many moons ago and seen 2-3 adapters from over seas failed. Scared the ***** out of the drivers.

I know the job things is very important especially in this economy, but I my self have had it effect me somewhere around 20k less! a year :( but the topic is about current safety of the two. I won't sacrifice safety for cash that's why I'm askin the question but if they are the same I might as well save 150 bucks. Oh and a us company made the Toyota gas peddle assembly :( our bad

If they were both the same, one wouldn't be $150 less...
This isn't an area to save some bucks,I'd re-think your theory until you've done more research.

I work in tool and die. The Chineese use a lesser grade of material. You get what you pay for.

Think of it like this...even with the cheap labor and the boat ride here...and they can still sell it to you for $150 less? They GOTTA be scrimpin somewhere...
Not on my car ... no way ... I won't even consider it ... and yes, I will be running adapters on my car ...

It comes down to material quality, levels of standards, labor, etc.
In the US, if they advertise a specific grading, they need to be said grading or face lawsuits. We're a litigious country. We have rules and set standards for a reason. Other countries not so much.
In China, just because they say it's that, you don't always know that it is. They don't always adhere to honest business practices or work with suppliers who do. They don't have the teams of lawyers waiting around to sue the business dead if something happens with hoards of media coverage to expose it all. I have seen personal examples of product that is "supposed" to be good but isn't because one of their suppliers wasn't supplying legitimate product. As a result, the whole batch was tainted and required recalling.
This is one reason why they can get away with making knock off products there that you can not tell the difference between that and the real thing.
Other reasons include much cheaper labor, less safety practices required, no "osha", etc. manufacturing practices there aren't subject to the safety, pollution, labor protecting rules they are here. Think of it like our country was around 1900. Some of their more legitimate factories are working on this, but they're still a few years behind us.
If you value this as a critical safety component, then go with a trusted supplier who has to, by law, guarantee their product.
If you wonder how I know this- I work in the toy industry where most of the industry product is made overseas. I have had numerous trips to China and have seen first hand some toy factories as well as the results of recalls and other issues.
Like it was mentioned above- you do get what you pay for (most of the time, that is)
I hope this helps.

Glad you are getting them locally and US made.
Oh and a us company made the Toyota gas peddle assembly :( our bad
BTW, the mechanics of the gas peddle is not the problem, as that U.S. company makes them for most of the manufacturers. It's Toyota's software logic that is screwed up, not the pedal.

So you CAN actually BUY a wheel adapter that really is MADE in the USA?
I never would have thought that!
