I currently have a 86 nissan 300zx, it is a really dependalbe car and i like it a lot. However i found a 87 turbo car that looks to be in decent condition for pretty cheap, it is NOT the newer 90's twin turbo nissans. Any info if these are good cars or anything positive/negative? thanks

I've seen some that seriously scoot... Stock parts won't be hard to find, since they are pretty plentiful, they have a strong aftermarket, and it's a niche car.

Try freshalloy.com, they don't have a forum just for old z cars, but the members could likely help.

there are ton of z car forums out there. i can tell you that "cheese wedge" z's had some pretty bad electrical problems, especially if they had a few miles on them. personally if you want a turbo z i would get an earlier 280zx, they can be built up to run pretty well with even the twin turbo z's

I've got a 1990 TT. Since I bought it I've found that there is tons of support for the Z cars... lots of collectors out there and lots of clubs. Many of the internet sites have varied levels of know how though...

electrical could be a problem...a couple of my buddies are obsessed with datsun and nissan...and they have some shorting problems in the dash from what i know. other then that they like to flip them selves around in the rain. and they suck in the snow even though the turbo has limited slip so its alittle better then the base modle. but they are great cars other wise and they drive nice. also the turbo engine bay is even more cramped. nissan is one of the only imports that does there cars right as far as im concerned. i think the z cars are as close as japan got to a muscle car. if you have any specific questions im sure i can find out. it doesnt take much to get one of those in the low 13/12's
