What color would you paint this Cordoba?

Well, while looking for a project car I came upon this all original Chrysler Cordoba that I picked up for $500. As the title says, I am looking for suggestions on paint.

I won't be painting the car for some time, due to being on a budget, being 18 and all. It was originally a nice metallic red, but that has obviously faded over the years.

I was looking at Cyber Gray Metallic, but am open to any suggestions.

Black- the fastest color...whatever you do, do not paint it one of those esater color egg colors that people are using now....

I learned to drive in my Dad's '76 Cordoba. It was the factory deep burgundy with a white vinyl top. It really looked good on that car!

They had a really pretty forest green metallic at that time too- it'd look really good with that tan interior.

my first car was a 78 'Doba with the 360/4 barrel gas guzzler under the hood.
it was light green, but had red doors (i got it from my cousin, and when he had it, someone smashed all the windows out. instead of putting new door glass in it, he just changed the doors- even the door panels were red, which fit in perfectly with the dark green interior). inside and out, it looked like a 2 ton water melon. it wasn't fast, but it did a pretty effective job of turning the right rear tire to smoke and rubber chunks. it also required my undivided attention just to keep it on the road- it literally needed 1/2 turn of steering wheel input just to keep it straight.
i miss that car..

well, the front ride height is adjusted with a socket- around here the rear is adjusted by the rear leaf spring mounts rotting away and pushing thru the trunk floor..

I actually love the white. I'd detrim it, and keep it white. Or, maybe do a two tone and leave everything above the beltline while.

They also look great in a burgundy monotone. Not sure what color interior you have(?) Metalic Brown is a very close second choice for me. Some browns back then had silver and gold specs in it, very attractive.

You really need to lose the vinyl top and that lower body trim. If it has the fenderwell trim and that door ding guard, it has to go too. Oh, and the hood ornament and chrome down the center of the hood. That's it. Don't over-do it with the 80s monochrome look. You just want to clean it up. Now, just pick a color and nail the stance. Black would be cool.

Strip most of the moulding and drop it a bit, put some meats on it and flat black it with some black stock car style wheels on it. Sinister!
But the right "road race" style would look ok too if they weren't overdone.

Yeah, clean it up, maybe a subtle pearl white, if paint is still good enough to sand and seal, with good clear, tone down the 70s chrome, I would actually look at it that way(less to repaint like jams) and to be honest THAT car would look good with Torque Thrust 2s or polished Boss wheels in a larger 5 spoke look in 17 or 18. add in some heavy (ie 440 torsion bars so you can drop it down some), Look into installing a triangulated 4 link for Ridetech and dump the leafs and add in rear air ride. You can free air a couple of 10s or 12s up against the rear seat, use inductor coils to cross the subs, put in a decent set of 4 way 6x9s with capacitors to cross them, then put mids in doors, tweeters up front and quality head unit/cd changer/ipod dock.
Look around for a 360 Magnum engine with OD trans, youll have to do some digging for bigger brakes(maybe up grade from different body style, not to up on Mopar options), figure out a larger set of sway bars and heavy duty rearend.
My 84 Caprice is going to get a 402 Big block Chevy but need a set of Aluminum heads to get weight off nose down the road! So I am working in odd territory too. But I have some luck with mine being Chevy, and being a mechanic too.
Good Luck and Keep It Simple Stupid (KISS) is the rule and do lots of research on swappable parts.

Check Firm Feel for Torsion bars and other suspension peices. Also you might consider changing your rear leafs and converting it from the ISO Clamp system.

I plan to get the to get rear axle clamp/shock mounts from a 73-74 Road Runner or Charger which will help get rid of that rubber part of the ISO Clamp.

DROP THIS ONE DOWN A SMIDGEN, MAYBE A TOUCH MORE SIDEWALL IN BACK AND ITS DONE.
Anything with chrome bumpers should keep the trim along bottom and wheelwell crome but dump mid body stuff ,center hood, and the like.
This car looks goood and I dont care who thinks Im crazy, and I am not a big newer dodge fan.
