New to the Forum. And new to pro touring. Been out of the car world for a while doing the family thing and needed something car seat and dog friendly. Budget forced me to sell the toys and a recent timing chain replacement got me interested again but I need some direction.

Still needing to have "dual purpose ride" ( needed on weekends but not a commuter), I looked at the Jeep SRT8, Trail Blazer SS and the Lightning etc... All great rides but too pricey for my budget.

I'm trying to make something that can stay with the rides mentioned above and handle just as well for reduced cost.

Found a low mileage 01 Durango SLT+, yes heavy (4750) but it's for fun.

Here are the mods I did so far,

Engine.

5.9L (360)
cast crank and piston 9.85 to 1.
Iron Magnum Eq heads with 2.02 / 1.625 stainless valves flowing 254cfm intake, 188 exhaust at .500 lift
62cc chamber

XR264HR14 Camshaft 212/218 .480/.480 lift
pioneer hd springs installed at 1.66 w/coil bind at1.05 pres325/130

Exhaust
1.5 inch headers into two inch y into 3 inch flowmaster single.

Suspension and Drive train

9.25 inch Mopar with LSD 3.55 rear gears
Stock Leaf springs
Stock Torsion Bars
Bilstiens All around
Hotchkis Front and Read Sway Bars
17 x 9 RT wheels with 275/60R17

Tansmission

46RE rebuilt with all heavy duty service parts
Steering cooler
Tranny Cooler
Custom made valve body
Edge 2600 Billet Stall

Here where I am stuck and need help?

Cam

I am small on my cam selection and my heads flow to .550 so I can up it a little on lift but more duration scares me with the vehicle weight? I will stroke this to 408 when it let's go but when I did the heads there was minimal wear and tear.

Frame strengthening:

It's already boxed but it flexes. I haven't a clue what metal type, thickness to use, tube or box, thickness?? and where to weld it. All new to me?

Rear suspension: It needs a panhard bar and some sort or traction aid. The 1/2 and 2/3 shift make the whole thing squats and squirms bad. No clue here either?

Wide band and Data Logger:

Looking at zetronics because I can add a trans temp guage right to the face

or the

Sniper AF5000

Both log TPS, RPM and Air / Fuel ( both under $350)

Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
