I was just wondering how you can check the VIN-number, to find out what engine the car came with. Here in Denmark(europe) The "motoroffice" (don't know what it's called in the US) won't allow you to drive a 6-cylinder camaro with a v8. That's why it would be very bad to buy a car born with a 6 cyl. engine. Hope you understand my question...

Very simple, the 3rd number in the vin on a Camaro or Firebird will announce the engine being a 6 cylinder or a eight. 67 through 69 will be......

12337 for 6 cyl coupes
12437 for v8 coupes

12367 for 6 cyl convertibles
12467 for v8 convertibles
