i was wondering if i got vintage air could i use my stock compressior that came with the lt1 or would i have to use the supplied one that vintage air puts in there kit??

pretty sure you can use any compressor- you may have to make up custom a/c lines though

what do u mean fixed displacement? also is there a kit you guys would recommend getting since ill be using my compressior and making my own lines?

I had the LT1 compressor and a Vintage Air kit on my Camaro, worked perfectly.

The LS type are variable displacement compressors, the LT ones are Fixed. Sometimes the variable ones don't work "properly" with the VA setup. Give Frank at Prodigy a call and he can set you up with a kit without compressor (if that what you want). BTW, consider the GenIV surefit one over the other models if you get one.
