I see they make the quarter window weatherstriping with or without a metal strip. Which is the best way to go?

I have never seen that weatherstrip without the Stainless strip in it. I have seen it with the large diameter strip and the OEM style small strip with rubber on both sides of the strip.

Are you talking about the vertical weatherstrip at the front of the window? If so, usually the ones with the metal insert seal better, plus the original ones (that I have seen and changed) have the metal. The ones without the metal just don't seem to seal very well, too flimsy.
