I heard of pro-touring from over at fullsizechevy.com
I figured I would come over here to see if I could get any input.
My ride is a 2dr 2wd Tahoe 99' model, last year of production
Has 165k, all new front brakes, replaced all steering components with moog. I know thats not really modifying, but replacing stock components to that, is a world of difference.
The hoe has a 4/6 drop, I think my new hotchkis springs may have even put me at a 5/6
I'm not sure if SUV's are even capable of running in auto-x events, but I haven't heard anything for/or against it.
A little insight here would be greatly appreciated.
Any idea's on how I can squeeze even better handling out of my hoe would be awesome too.
Hopefully my stay here will be enjoyable :)
Also, I am running 275/45/r20 on all four corners, the rims came on the truck when I got it.
I eventually plan on getting some 17's with a smaller pro tire.

Good stuff man! Every since seeing a slammed "2 Do' Hoe" in a magazine Yeeeeears ago it has always been one of those achievable vehicles that I sometimes think about doing a build on. I like seeing clean 2 door Tahoes. Welcome to P-T.

Thanks man. I really hope with time, money, and patience, I can make something special out of this one.
I've never seen anyone with a "pro-touring" tahoe, so. I figured I can slowly take steps towards one.

I guess it depends how far into that concept you want to go. You could go as mild as some bolt-ons or as wild as a full frame redesign type build. Either way I think you have a timeless platform. Keeping realistic results in mind, it could be a bad ass Sport Truck or Sport Suv or S-Suv, however you want to say it. There are at least 3 truck builds going on over here that I can think of right off the top of my head. Different years and even sizes. All Chevy.

Well, I've never seen any SUV's in general, I don't plan on doing a custom chassis up build.
I'm no fabricator, so that wouldn't happen.
I'm not saying thats completely out of the picture in the future.
But for now it's still my daily driver.
I plan on getting a rear sway bar, and either a bigger one up front, or so a full poly bushing upgrade.
And as far as performance.
I really have my sights set on a 6.2L swap out of like the 08' denali's
that motor stock would move my truck much much more easily, and get better gas mileage doing it.

You're right. I've never seen any SUV builds here either. Be the first, inspire many. Like I said, you can start with the bolt ons from the trucks and tune everything from there. Given their popularity, you should have quite a nice ride just in that. I like the 6.2 too.

Well, all my friends and myself already call it the hoe, so it will probably be the hoe-s
And yeah, I want to mod this motor, but If it'll save me money down the long haul, I'll just keep this stock for now, and get that 6.2, I probably wouldn't even need much to waken up the 6.2, a CAI, full exhaust, gears, and a tune.
My mom has an 08' with a 6.2 in it. and that thing freaking moves for how heavy it is.
