Here we go. I am beginning my first Pro-touring build and it all started with the frame I bought that someone went another way with his project.
His lost will hopefully be my gain. The suspension is C4 Vette in the front and rear. Brakes will be from a C5 Zo6. Currently I am running a Lt1 in the car as a daily driver, plan to up grade to a Lt4 or thinking about running a Ls1 to save some weight. Wheels are five spoke Vette rims from a C5 and 89 Camero front seat. Frame going to Alabama or C4 rear installation. Goal to keep project under $15K including car. Here are a few pics attached

interesting. I don't think I have ever heard of someone using a C4 suspension on a Gbody before. This should be pretty damn cool. Who set the IRS up or was it a custom deal?

I am taking the frame down to Street Shop Inc. in Alabama to have them set up the rear end in the frame.

Cool. I had a Dana 44 rear that I was going to put in my Monte, but decided I didn't have the time or $ to do it. But has always been my dream. Good to see someone is doing it. Can't wait to see more pics.

Hey is this Elaina's brother Matt? I think I see Greggs El Camino over there. Glad to see some progress pics and welcome to the site.

I bought the unfinished frame from Gregg, he went a different way with his project and dropped a 572 big block in his el camino

Trey and the guys at Street Shop know what they are doing with adapting C4/5/6 rear ends to different vehicles.

I have had this idea floating around my head first for my monte, then for my malibu for a while. Looking forward to seeing this unfold.

Very cool project, I'll be checking up on this one too.
Best of luck on it, the frame looks tasty.

That is awesome! I have wanted to do this to another Monte SS for a little while now. It would make for one hell of a nice car to spend some time in.

Does that rear need to be isolated from the frame?

Well that's a shame :( What part of MO was it listed in?

It was the ST Louis one, but I just did a search and don't see it listed anymore.

I put a stop to the project because I found a great deal on another project that I could complete and be driving right away. I bought Project Muscle Truck from Travis the editor of Street Trucks magazine. All it really needed was ignition and efi to complete. Put a mallory ign and FAST efi on it and runs great.
Therefore the frame and front suspension is for sale now $850 will take it.

Did you ever get it set up for a C4 rear, or is it still stock?

The rearend set up is still the Triangular four link with the coilover connected behind the rearend. Pictures in original thread - Frame and all front suspension is for sale

Thats too bad, looked like it was going to be a pretty sick build.

Lets see the truck. If its the one I'm thinking of, that is one bad ass ride.
