What do you think? Haven't seen one quite like it. Drawn on solidworks then machined on the cnc at work.

I would round off those sharp points a bit and you have a very nice tray. Batteries tend to want to be different from one manufacture to another on the exact size and when they try to bounce you don't want to rub it with a point.

Looks great otherwise :1st:

I like that a lot, how do you mount it?

I agree, it looks very nice but you should cut down those sharp corners. You don't want one of those sharp corners to puncture a battery in an impact.

Thanks its good to get positive feedback on something you created.
The base holds the battery in place the pointed covers only hold down.It only fits a gm optima battery. The bottom has blind tapped holes for mounting and has been shelled to lighten(a little).I have 3 extras if someone is really interested.

I finally got pictures of the bottom. The six holes on bottom are for mounting.I will be using the two on the ends w/thru sleeves in the subframe(in the trunk). Thank you everyone for all the great comments! I will try to post more pictures of some of the other parts i have done.

How much for one?

RBARNES496

This is the battery i have. I am trying to find out what other optimas have the same frame size. If there is a more common frame size i would be willing to do a tray for them if 6-10 of you were interested. I would not ask any $ up front just a solid commitment.
Thanks again,
Rich

I received one of street rod's battery hold downs, it's a perfect fit for the 34/78 optima series batteries, and a work of art. Reasonably priced, and nicer than anything out there.

He was great to deal with, and again, a great product- m weiss
