what are those relays for??

ok guys... i'm doing so rewiring on my 71 nova, in the middle of the firewall is a a couple of relays(old style/original looking) what are they for?? wondering if they are even working... if you look they are in center of the fire wall ??

I can't tell-do you have a bigger pic? The only relay that comes to mind as far as factory would be your blower fan relay...other than that, not sure.

heres a better pic of them but off the firewall(they were mounted in the center of the fire wall)
if they are for the lower i can remove it because i'm going to install a different heater and smooth the firewall but there is 2...may ones for the wipers??

Those are for emissions controls. If you don't have the orgininal carb and charcole cansiter, they are not doing anything.
