Look into Total Control Products

Also, why a big block? Just wondering....

should i go with a small block to cut weight and make it more agile overall?

I think you will find that is the general consensus on this site.

I am keeping my eye on the new 5.0 that is coming out. All aluminum with 420hp seems better than all cast iron or cast/aluminum with 420hp wouldn't you say?

that sounds logical.
what do you think it would cost to do it myself?

Are we talking about drivetrain or suspension?

To me, cost is just a number. Performance values cost whatever they are going to cost. It's up to you to decide how MUCH performance you will get from the "cost". This is determined by how much research you put into it. You don't have to have the newest/trickest parts to make the car perform well (aka "just throwing money at it"). All you have to do is make well researched decisions for the proper modifications to achieve your desired performance level.

i should have been clear, my bad.

i was asking how much the suspension would cost (guest-a-mate) with top of the line parts.

It depends on what you want out of it.... race car handling? Cadillac Ride quality? Both?

Nobody here can answer that question for you because it is too vague....

With top of the line parts? Maybe a lot....

handling and comfort would be great. i've got plenty of time for the research because my camaro is still in need.
what would you go with? think it's gonna be more than 7k?

SInce you mentioned both handling and ride quality you may want to look at air:

It's $7200 for the complete kit.

We have a couple of seriously quick Mustangs, one of which you can see here:

Another alternative, http://www.opentrackerracingproducts.com/ has some nice upgrades to stock suspension to get performance and comfort for a good price. I'd recommend roller spring perches and a roller idler arm kit to begin with.

The Total Control stuff is the best coil over suspension out there. You will get great handling and ride.

The Air Ride is awesome, the Mustang pictured is extremely fast on the track and rides like a dream.

We sell both, so no conflict or interest or favoritism here.

just came across a complete independent rear suspension from a 2003 mustang cobra for 1k. would this be a good idea to stick under my 65 coupe pro touring project?

all input is greatly appreciated.

thanks

ok, the 03 cobra irs is 5" wider than the stock rearend in my 65 mustang coupe. i don't think that's gonna work.

wonder how the irs setup from a 88-96 c4 corvette would work? how about the 88-96 c4 for the front?

any ideas?

It's a 2nd gen Camaro front subframe and a SBC in a Mustang.

Griggs racing all the way! I had their suspension on my last mustang. IMO the best "bolt in" suspension available. If performance is what you're after it's worth taking a look.

I'm going to be putting one in my 69 amx. if you look around you can find some cheaper than $1,000 I paid $300 for the first one I bought but had to sell it to pay for other things. The one I have now I paid $450 for. check this site out there is usually a few for sale on it http://www.svtperformance.com/forums/suspension-258/

I would think that the corvette is going to be wide also. I know the c5's has a track width around 61''
