The body is in surprisingly good shape with little rust and mostly solid metal,

Hmmm.. cool but nothing new.

There was that LS9(with ZR1 brakes) vette at the GNRS and at a shop down the the street there's a early vette being built with an LS9 and all of that.

Plus it has to top the Roadster Shop Vette..

I am reserving judgement. ;)

The bird cage which is the frame work the body is mounted on and that mounts to the frame is prone to rusting. They didn't fully weld them or seam seal them so water would get into the inside and rust them from the inside out. Easily missed and very expensive to repair. Also mainly covered up by the fiberglass body panels so you have to know how to look at them.

Cool car but ultimate it is not. At least so far anyway. I've got a friend building a realy 63 split window on an SRIII frame also. He more thna likely will go LS7. So we will see what this one does. I'm sure it will be great even if not the greatest.

Also, look up a car called split personality. A little over the top and hot roddish but very high end 63 split window with LS7.

Roadster Shop created a one off work of art.

This looks like someone just went shopping for parts to make a bolt together kit car. With good instructions this could be built by anyone who can turn a wrench.

Well they are polishing everything Steve.

Polishing is sooooo "2005" lol

I'm more into unique "industrial" type coatings.. Matte is the new chrome!

Well, at least to me.

I'm sure the car will come out amazing.....

....but won't handling suffer with those 20" wood dubs?:)

The Roadster Shop Vette is a seriously nice vehicle.

Safe to say it has the potential to be the baddest LS9 powered 'vette ever built by Anthony's Rods and Customs... anything more than that would be a stretch.

Roadster Shop 'Vette is an awesome car and the one at the GNRC has great potential - hopefully we get to see it later in the year.

Agree ... that Roadster Shop Corvette set the bar pretty high!!

Very nice build, though. Keep the progress coming.

I'm with you on this, I don't see that much originality in the fab work or parts selection from what has already been done.

I also have never been a fan of polished parts that retain heat, polished parts for strength are good, making a tea kettle out of the trans or engine are not good things.

Seems like it will be more show than go.

We will see?

I must be missing something here. One the website it says, "The body is in surprisingly good shape with little rust and mostly solid metal" Corvette = Fiberglass <> Rust

They are obviously refering to rust in the birdcage.
