2wd s-10/blazer rear discs work on a-body rears too. Basicly a direct bolton just like LS1 rear disc.

Unless your are using Corvette stuff you don't need any bracket. A spacer to center the caliper is all you need for the LS1 setup.

I have a complete C4 setup for sale. Asking $300. It has brackets for a 9" but Kore 3 will have the ones for a GM rear if you could not modify the ones I have. Not a lot to them. Randy

The backing plate for the LS1 brakes has the caliper mount on it, similar to the S10 brakes shown above. The S10 brakes allow 15" wheels to fit while the LS1 brakes usually require a 16" wheel or larger.

How thick are those caliper mount brackets?

Question, can you use the C6 calipers with the LS1 rear brake? Meaning the C6 calipers with the Ls1 rotors and e-brake shoes.

You can use the standard C6 caliper on the Ls1 backing plate. Use Ls1 pads and rotors, C6 anti-rattle springs. IIRC, the C6 has a slightly smaller piston diameter.

So it would be better off just buying a used LS1 rear set then.
Thank you, off to find a set.

Will a setup from a 96 Trans Am work on a 79 Z-28? It has staggered shocks on it, so would I have to get one different calliper for it?

Yes you will need two left calipers

What you can do is go to a Napa and ask for a left caliper, and swap your right caliper for it. They won't know (usually)

question - will the ls1 rear brakes work with 15" rally wheels?

I've heard some 15" wheels should work with the "LS1" brakes, but I can't confirm it...

The C4 rear brakes I have for sale will fit under a 15" wheel.

One advantage with those LS1 vs the C5 brakes....a workable ebrake. You can make the C5 ebrake functional too, but it is much more involved and can be expensive.

one more question???? It looks like the 98 Trans Am rear discs have an internal drum brake as a parking brake. Is this possible to use on my 79 Z with staggered shocks or would I be better off with 96 Trans Am discs with the caliper parking brake?

in order to use 15" wheels with those LS1 brakes, you need to grind down the fins on the caliper, go to LS1tech.com and search for grind caliper or something and you should see a write up on it.

Just adapt on the 98-up S/T Blazer/S10 rear brakes, they work great and also clear 15 in wheels and do everything you will need and you can get them either way on front or rear of axle.
I am going to run them on my 84 Caprice with the 355mm Corvette front brakes and on my 77 Monza with either the 325mm or 340mm fronts. Fronts on both will be with Kore 3 brackets. Rears are nearly bolt on (actually if I can find good 4x4 Blazer rearend I hope to get all of it for cheap/free for 77 Monza).

So how different are the Blazer calipers than the Vette rear calipers?

So it sounds like the ls1 camaro brakes are the way to go. Im still in between either putting a 8.5" 10 bolt or a 12 bolt in.
Which one would be easier to mount to brakes to?
Is there a difference between BOP and chevy rears?
Are the bolt holes for the backing plates the same on either housing?
And as stated above do you even need a bracket to make the ls1 brakes work?
I looked into the KORE3 website but they say that the parking brake will not work with their corvette Big Brake bracket kit.
Sorry for all the question but there is a lot of conflicting information out there and its hard to tell what is bs or not

Some BOP rears have non c-clip axles so the bearing comes out withthe axles. Year specific.
Housing ends are the same but you will need a 1/4" spacer behind the backing to center the caliper on the rotor.
