C'mon, post'em up! We gotta share with our southern and western friends here!
Here's one out my front door. I think we only got 6"-8", others got up to 18" all over Pennsylvania!

That's not funny. Not funny at all! :machine:
Actually, it is funny. After looking out my window, I can't do anything but laugh! I think we're aproaching 20+ inches in the Leesburg, VA area.

Same here. I'm only about 45 miles north east of Oshawa.
It was so sunny today, I swear I saw some squirrels sitting on deck chairs drinking margaritas.
Be carefull in all that snow. I'm sure there are a lot of people getting themselves into trouble and taking out others with them.

this one was a funny storm; usually further north gets more, but this was opposite. we only got about 5" here in the lehigh valley so I didn't bother w/ pictures. the report was close, they told us 4"-8".
parking is the worst part here in the city. so many apartments, too many cars, and the renters don't bother cleaning anything but their own cars, they never shovel anything!

Rookies....
We usually get 3-4 of those a year in MA. Though since I rebuilt my snowblower, we haven't had a single flake...yet.

We got some snow here. Tractor with plow couldn't handle it (not a garden tractor either - tried both the Ferguson and the International. Both with chains). Had to use the Bobcat with metal tracks. Even it was marginal. There is ice under the snow so on the grades, the tracks spin. We were without power for the past 24 hrs and the dozer needs pre-heat to start. The backhoe would be useless. It'd just be a top-heavy sled. A big problem is that the snow is really heavy rather than powder, so the 24+ inches we got is tough to work with. The only good news is it doesn't drift as much as normal, but it's tougher than normal. The snow is so heavy here that it literally twisted the aluminum mud flap on the front passenger wheel on my Dodge Ram. Had to remove it, but will still need to repair the fender lip where the snow actually bent the assembly.
We're more than used to heavy snow here but the combination of ice before the snow, combined with the density/heavy snow in such a large amount so fast has created real problems. Since we had no power, and I finally got the driveway cleared enough with the bobcat (took all day yesterday) we all got in the Dodge last night to find food. Absolutely nothing was open. Power down everywhere. Trees down, roads closed. Found an open Sheetz that normally makes sandwiches that was open. They had run out of food hours before. It's gonna take a lot of work to clean this up.

It is.
I've never had a snow blower before so I did a little Google research on what was available. Online it was hard to tell from the little thumbnails how big the different blowers were so I bought it based on specs. When the delivery truck showed up with it, my wife said "What the hell did you buy a such a monster snow blower for?"
Now she knows. :bananna2:
In case you're wondering, it's an Ariens Deluxe Two-stage 27 In. Electric Start Snow Blower, Model # 921012. Another feature that sold me is it's made in the USA (Wisconsin).

Wow the amount of snow going on down in VA etc is crazy. I live in CT and this past weekend we had...0.0" of snow :)
My grandmother in the other hand, who lives in Aldie, VA could not get out...hours and hours of complaining on the phone. Told her to move, she said no.

I'm originally from New Jersey and out here in Colorado with the military. Believe it or not they get way more snow out there then in the springs area. Way up in the mountains its different, but down here it's surprisingly decent. We got about 2" last night, and it usually melts in a day, the sun is so intense here.
We're moving back to the east and I'm dreading snow lol. Colorado is nothing. I was laughing at my father in law in south Jersey with his 2' of snow yesterday.

Of course, you had to take that pic with an ozone free solar powered recycled digital camera equipped with anti-vibration lenses to compensate for the earth quakes while you're wearing a life vest for when you guys finally fall off the rest of the country all while listening to Nancy Pelosi, Barby Boxer and Diane Feinstein sing kumbaya while they're counting all our money....

Don't drivers like this annoy you? You see this over and over and over.
Is it really too much effort to brush the snow off the headlights, tail-lights and back glass?

What annoys me is the huge sheet of snow that flies off the roof and lands smack dab in the middle of my clean windshield while cruising at highway speeds....the pucker factor is extremely high for a few seconds until I can see again.

They actually passed a law here in PA making it illegal to drive without cleaning the snow from your car. People can be arrested for not doing so, and allowing snow from their car to do what you've described.

Last week (2-6-10) 20.2"
This week (2-9/10-10) 17.3".
And then back on dec 19 we had another 22.1".

Around where I live they give people tickets for that. You have to at least clear your tailights ,turn signals and license plate or you are going to donate $75 to the city or state.

If my Dodge Cummins was having trouble, believe me your Tacoma would also. Don't usually have issues. The snow this time was way heavier than normal. Not powdery AT ALL.
Hell, when my Massey Ferguson with chains was having trouble - you bet your Tacoma would be struggling! Those little 33" BFGs you have? They're a little less than HALF the size of the wheels on the Massey Ferguson. Not including the chains. It's amazing how difficult this snow storm was. Really strange.
