Not well his last series... lol
But he obviously still wasn't hurt bad enough to make the Patriots injury report, right?! :)
Seriously, if someone wants to bash the guy here too, this is not the purpose of this thread. I'm just amazed what these guys do to stay on the field sometimes.

To answer your question: Huge, cast iron bollocks.
You don't play for 19yrs in the NFL w/o missing a game unless you are a complete, class "A" bada$$.
The guy is exactly 1mo younger than I am and I cannot comprehend being that good an athlete at this age. Although, I have a feeling that in a few years I will feel better than him on the average morning.
I'm not an NFL fan at all. I think there is no heart in the game to give a short run down of what I think about it. However, I like Favre. He is own of the best athletes ever. He came out of Mississippi and not a person knew who he was or what he'd do with his career. Now look at him. Simply outstanding. I think it'll be some time before anyone is considered better or more winning than him and I'm well aware of the Manning brothers with Payton being outstanding as well. There's something to be said for longevity

IMO Favre's streak is more amazing than Ripken's.
A reporter asked Favre's agent Buz Cook how he was doing and Cook said "Beat up" and sent those pics to the guy which supposedly were taken the day after the game.
That ankle is nasty˛!

Alot of people like to bash Favre for the last few years of being so undecided about whether to play or not, "retired....not retired" stuff, but I have nothing but respect for him. He is an outstanding (and smart) player / QB and he will definately be held on a pedestal of comparison for years to come I'm sure.

I like watching him play, especially when he is on. It is also cool to see the level of passion with which he plays. It is refreshing and a nice contrast to the whiners in the league that hold out for contracts. I realize he makes plenty of money, but that is the last thing going through his mine when he throws a nice ball.

I've always loved the guy. But wow did he look old in that last game. I think he has stretched this run out for as long as it's going to go.
It's time to walk away Brett.

For a long time, I was right there with ya Tony. I thought the smartest thing he could have done would have been to retire from Green Bay, and become part of their coaching staff (QB coach? Off. coordinator?). He earned a lot of love and respect in Green Bay, and could have been just fine there for a long, long time.
When he went to the Jets I thought it was a stupid move.
I live in MN now, and when he came here I thought it was also a stupid move, but since the Vikings have no capable QBs in the system, it was something. He played really well and led a decent team to a decent finish. He did a lot better than I thought he could.
I honestly think he'll do one more year here. I only wish they had someone coming up in the system who could replace him once he retires. He could be teaching someone, but I really do not think that is happening...at least not at the level it should be.

Gut feeling, but I think Colt McCoy is going to slip to the 28th pick and the Vik's will have a shot at him.

That would be really cool for the Vikes. Colt would be the kind of dynamic QB the team needs, and I bet he wouldn't mind learning a thing or two from Brett...

Even if they miss out on McCoy, CMU's Lefouver might be there. His stock has been rising of late. Being a Chippewa myself I have watched plenty of the guy. He's probably the best QB to come out of that conference in a long time.

As long as they have more potential than Tarvaris Jackson (which shouldn't be hard to achieve) it'd be cool...

You have more potential as an NFL quarterback than Tavaris Jackson.

Thats the last thing management wanted although Brett pursued thoughts of those positions with them and they refused. He wanted to come back, play 1 more year and take on a coordinator position. They said no way! Same crap they pulled with our last coach. I will say living here in WI the most hated individual is Ted Thompson the general manager who forced Brett out in most peoples eyes. Thompson and Murphy (chief exec.) made it so difficult for Brett that he had to look elsewhere. Long story short, they wanted him to compete against Rodgers for the starting position, they also pretty much poisoned the pot for him to play on another North conference team which he looked into (Minn./Chicago) From there he asked if they could trade him to Tampy Bay. Thompson made the deal so sour Tampa said no. The Jets wanted him for a couple of reasons, they knew with him they would at least be a wild card team. And also they needed an image. (quote; we have had no star power status since Joe Namath) Farve agreed because he knew IMO that if he went to the Jets it opened up the doors to go elsewhere, ala free agent. Smart move on his part considering all he wanted to do was play for either the packers or there close rivals. Besides what better way to get back at Packer Management than to go to the Vikings or Chicago. Best thing he ever did and he IMO doubled his fan base.
He will always be remembered as a Packer. No different than Joe Namath, he grabbed his fur coats and bad knees in 77 and ended his career with LA.

What I would have liked is for Packer management to show the ultimate confidence in their own team and have traded him to the Bears or the Vikes in 2008 and not be petty and trade him to the Jets.
Likely they would gotten a better return in a higher pick(s). Aaron Rodgers clearly needed to play.
But naturally when egos get in the way things get real stupid and messy and we all saw that play out.
People actually hate Favre for not retiring. These same critics, they are not fans, would have a fit if some stranger told them not to pursue their livelihood. Bizarre behavior from the majority of so called Packer fans.
Living near Buffalo, NY I think I can be objective since we just have a semi-pro team here...lol.

I spent my first 18 years in Amherst, so I can relate to the WNY thing. The parallels between the Bills and the Vikes are strong. No great young 'franchise' QB for a long time, and no visits to the Big Game since then.
I grew up a Bills fan and would love to be one again. It's just hard to cheer for a team that sucks that bad.

Ah so Scott you too are a fellow sufferer. You know the shame, the cringing that occurs when someone says 'that's four straight times' and they're not even referring to the Buffalo tackle football team SB debacles...:(
Many BB fans as you know still suffer from 'NDTSSFFSSBLBATW' (non-delayed traumatic stress syndrome from four straight Super Bowl losses broadcast around the world), so I find it healthy not to watch Buffalo anymore until they find the forest through the trees....lol.
