Looking at a 12 bolt w.eaton locker. The number from the locker says 30 spline /3 series carrier. Does that make much difference say to a 33 spline. And if I wanted a bigger spline would I have to change carrier/axels/pinion.

Also the guy says its a Moser rear end..What makes it a Moser rear end. The cover says moser, but anyone can buy a moser plate????
Thanks

We usually say 500 to 550 HP for 30 spline and 600 to 650 HP for 33 spline

Now here is a DTS dana 60 w wildwood brakes 373 gear ratio for almost the same price. has 35 spline strange set up. The rear will be going in a 68 camaro with about 420 rear wheel hp. Which one would you go with. Now the Dana is brand new never ran, the 12 bolt has been ran not to for sure how long but the gears look good 411 gear ratio. The dana is 59 in so with my set up I would have to run 1/2 in spacers on each side because of my rims. Any thoughts.

60s are anchors! WAY heavy! Go with the 12 bolt, more then enough for your power

I got the 12 bolt 30 spline 373/posi with c-clips. It is aMoser rear (castingME005) with eaton posi track. The brakes I found out are from SSBC (sell for over 700). Got it for tot $1445, so I am happy with it.

A 33 will handle more power than a 30 spline. If you aren't using drag slicks and sides stepping a clutch it is probably academic, tires will break loose before the axle breaks. Maybe if you are banging a stick gears hard with road race slicks it could be iffy.

FWIW my stock 28 spline 10 bolt axles have been launching 550 HP WITH slicks for 10 years, with alot of low 1.5 60 fts. It's an auto car which hits the tires/axles/drivetrain alot easier than a stick.
