My name is Larry and I joined the website a few months back. I am finally getting around to posting my project. I live in Crete Illinois and have restored several cars in my life. My last project was about 10 years ago, it was a Boss 429 Mustang that I bought in pieces. I sold the car about 8 years ago when I went through a messy divorce. This is my first attempt at a custom car everything else I have done has been a restoration with maybe some mild changes (headers, wheels, lowered ect). I am looking forward to the freedom of choosing the way I want the car versus the way the car was built by the manufacturer. I purchased my 1969 Camaro back in November around Thanksgiving and have been making slow but steady progress ever since. I am posting some pictures and will try to update this as I make progress. Some details about where I am taking the build, well for now I am looking at a 540 BBC with a 6 speed gear box, front suspension mods to include speed tech arms, Qa1 coil-overs, big Wilwood brakes. Most of the front work is in progress. In the back I am going to run the Prodigy 4-link with DSE tubes. As far as other details who knows I change my mind like a woman in a shoe store. So anyway here is my thread I hope it’s half as entertaining as some of the other ones on the site. Happy reading!

It has been a while since I posted and things are moving along slowly. I scraped the undercoating off of the floor boards and primed them. I also cleaned up the subframe and sprayed it so its ready to start bolting on the front suspension and brakes. You can see the passenger side is mocked up and I am waiting for spindle nuts to get it all installed. I orderd the wheels, brakes and 4-link from Frank at Prodigy and I can't thank him enough for all of his guidance! He even gave me a trick to install the front springs! I will let Frank pass that tip along if he so wishes! Anyway here are some photos.

Well I picked up my engine and trans from Travis (daytonayellaz) yesterday! It was a smoking deal and I couldn't be any happier. If anyone is looking for an LS engine in the Midwest Travis is the man. Mine is an LS2 out of a 2006 GTO with less than 8000 miles! It was complete with computer wiring harness and the 6-speed! Now all i have to do it decide what mods I am doing before I install it! Once again thanks Travis!

Wow Larry! I cant believe I missed this thread. Thanks for the props and your certainly welcome. I know you have been working lots of hours....Have any updates on the progress of the car? Hope you have a Merry Christmas!
