WOW talk about crash tested!!! And what the h*ll do they make their pole out of in Ohio That thing has to be 15 feet down in the ground. You know GM probably would not want that picture to get around. To late for that.

They don't make poles like they used to.......cars either. Poles nowadays are designed to break away so this doesn't happen.

I'm no expert but it looks like that was a one-in-a-million impact where the car was at just the right angle, and the pole missed the framerail and the engine by an inch each and there was nothing solid to stop it.

Wow!....walked away...Wow again....I can't imagine getting out and surveying the damage, then trying to get my nerve up to call Dad and tell him about his car.

It would get more then just some paint to get one running again :)

I am amazed anyone could walk away from such a horrific accident. I don't think a passenger would have.

Because a falling telephone pole never hurt anyone!

We can't make the cars indestructable. If you're going to drive like an a**hole and hit a fortified pole at that rate of speed then whatever happens is YOUR problem. Not GM's.

For what its worth, someone on another site who lived near this location pointed out that it is a metal pole, not a telephone pole. That makes a big difference.
