I have a 67 Camaro that puts 488hp/532ft pds to the wheels. I am currently running 275/40/18 BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KD tires on the rear. I don't have to tell you that these tires are fairly hard don't hookup at all.

I would like to put something on the rear such as an ET Street but they don't make them in 18". I ran a BFG Drag Radial on my 68 Camaro about 10 years ago and they were not much help either in regard to hooking up.

Can anyone recommend a tire that will fit on my 18" wheels? Looking for something that will hookup. I obviously am not going to find something "perfect" but for those of you that have had some prior experience running tires on a fairly decent horsepower street car please chime in and let me know your thoughts.

I have a set of Nitto NT555R's that I've heard good about. Definitely softer then most. I just looked at their site and now they have a NT05R that looks better then what I have. I have been entertaining the idea of selling my 305/45 18" NT555R's because I'm not going to be doing much drag racing. They have maybe 25 miles on them.

Frank, about how much do these run? 245/18 up front and 305/18 in the back?

The Nitto NT555R are great for going straight, but if you want to go around corners and hook going straight, you need something like a R888.

The Forgeline guys are in town and took us out for dinner and cocktails tonight, they reminded me how good their pricing on R888s is $362 a tire is pretty good. You can call Scott at Forgeline direct, there is not mark up in them but we can take care of you if you want us to handle it for you. You will love them.
