Looks like it's about time for a new exhaust system. I was thinking of going with a chambered exhaust system like the original Z28's. Anyone have any experience with this system? Where did you get your kit? How noisey is it? Do you really need to buy the special hangar/installation kit? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, TZ

Gardner exhaust has some great products. I haven't personnaly used their product, but know a few people that have. All the cars are stock show cars. Everone says they align great. Check out their website. Look for the sound clip button on the top right. You can hear what the exhaust sounds like. I love the cambered exhaust sound. Noisy? Depends on your definition of noisy.

The Gardner system is great if you're looking for stock original appearance, but it's really loud and obnoxious. I know a couple of people who like the appearance but can't stand the actual sound. They don't like driving their cars with it. Some of the other systems aren't 100% accurate in appearance but they sound better. Sweet Thunder (http://www.sweet-thunder.com/) makes a setup and so does Stainless Works (http://stainlessworks.net) . You can also get a less expensive version from Rick's Frist Gen Camaro (http://www.firstgen.com/) .

I called Gardner. The guy answered all my questions and was very up front in letting me know that their product is for OEM style show cars. He really didn't want to sell me a system since chambered exhaust weren't offered in 68. He did quote me @ $660 for the system which seems very reasonable to me. It comes with all the exact/correct hangers, clamps etc. All you would need. He said it was loud also. I'd do business with him if I were looking to do an absolute stock system. TZ

That stock treplacement system is very restrictive with the pipes only being 2". I'm planning on some form of custom chambered system for my car being at least 2-1/2" pipes. But I'm still pretty far away from that stage.
