need help carb & timing

the car runs rich only at idle its 750 holly dp the the dizzy is msd 85551 mac. advance tthe timing is set at 18 at idle and 36 wot also the carb is running on all 4 ciruct at idle my friends tell me to lock the timing to 36 and it wont run rich at idle

Maybe wrong or defect power valve? Another reason can be that the fuel level is to high.

Don't lock the dist unless you want more issues.

What size jets and can you post your combo?

Lock out your timing,only issue is hard hot starts but not everyone has that problem.

i like to thank you guys for trying to help me out with my car i went ahead and lock the timing at 36* the car woke up no more runnig rich smoke went away the car runs more crisp beter response more power i didnt beleive it till i saw it with my eyes no pinging and no hared starts
