I was a little baffeled by this one. I didn't see the bird go across but the announcers were mentioning it.

I did see the 442 and it was very very nice silver and black, with convertible top, 4 speed. Creme' de la creme'.

But how does that car go for $202K  and the Superbird 440 6pak with 21,000 original miles 'only' gets $145,000? I feel like I'm missing something!

Was the 442 a W-30 car? If so you have your answer.

Saw the Superbird go across the block.
Was a real Superbird but it had been wrecked and then the resto was done with non original driveline and body mods....

There were a couple of stunningly-restored Oldsmobiles at the Palm Beach B-J last year. They were easily the nicest cars at the Auction. If this car was done to a similar level (maybe the same restorers?) and can see the money it brought.

VDavie - you're right it was most definitely a W-30 car, I somehow slipped and didn't get that in the OP.
