The 7k mile one was my friends car, brought $62K. Pretty nice car, all original paint, one owners, dry storage, pretty clean.

and I could have bought one less than 10 years ago for under 30k! Doh!

Yeah, to see the values of not GNX's but Grand Nationals in general go up so much is mind boggling. The GNX's have really skyrocketed in value the past few years. I'll be lucky to be able to afford a Regal T-Type by the time I'm done with this car.

My friend was totally disappointed with the $62K, was hoping for WAY more. I know of a 1000 mile car for sale for $125K. I do not know if they are worth that kind oif money, but the GNX is a rare one to say the least, and a real benchmark car in that era of painfully slow performance cars.

Welcome to Barrett Jackson!

Frank I believe you old Firebird only brought about $60K if I remember correctly. I was getting drinks at the time and did not see the hammer fall.

It may sicken you to know that I worked at a race car shop in the 80's and early 90's and we had back halfed quite a few GN's, but one guy brought in a GNX to be done and I remember it had about 500 miles on it at the time when we cut it up!

I often wondered if that guy totally regreted doing that later on.

Looking back though, it probably wasnt any crazier than back halfing a big block camaro or something back when they where new.

I had a customer of mine have a chance to buy a GNX back in the early 90's for something like 20k or so. He turned it down because he already had 3 gn's! Now he regrets not buying it back then.
