Well my 69 Firebird Convertible has a project name!

"Poetry in Motion"

I am sure some of you will relate to my thoughts on stuff. I see a freshly machined part and want to hang it on the wall as art! A carbon fiber hood or valve cover is a thing of beauty to me. For my wife it is well crafted words. So she wrote me a poem about the car.

I can see the vision of all that I find to be engineered works of art incorporated into my finished project. And that vision for me is sheer POETRY!

So "Poetry in Motion" it is and here is my wife’s poem;

You, my love, are my feathers & flames.
Though your body is shot, your spirit remains.
Thirty-five and technically called an antique,
There's much more to you than just your physique.

Never mind that you're loaded & have lots of gas.
You enjoy going topless - now that's what I call class!
Aluminum heads, all shiny & new,
You now have a 6-speed transmission, too.
Fuel-injected for maximum drive,
With a Pontiac engine 455.

Many men have loved you in the past,
But their love for you, it didn't last.
Now I'm proud to have you as my own,
To shelter you and give you a home...

in my garage.

My wife can't envision this beauty I see,
As she stares at your frame with no doors & no seats.
Assure her, I do, that you'll win at the show
In your dress of new metal, painted Viper yellow.

Next to help my (and her) visualizations Kris will be providing some renderings this spring I hope!!

Well pics now would be of pieces and parts. But as soon as Kris gets the renderings done I will post them. Right now I am in planning mode. Also I am getting my jeep mods completed this winter, and the garage/shop ready. So by next fall I can get the Firebird project underway. I am also waiting for some more parts I want to come out. Like an Anvil Carbon Fiber Firebird Hood!!!!

Hint Hint!!!

Cool poem and nice project! Cant wait to see her come along.

I can relate, mine looks like its falling apart. I have a vision of the finish product, but my gf thinks its just a "old car".

Well a name for the car came to me last night at work. Boaring night shifts can lead to deep thoughts!!! LOL

But the project will be building Poetry in Motion. And the car, it will be called

F-69 the Super Raptor :1st:

You know F-body 1969, Huge engine "Super" and Raptor play on firebird. Anyway now maybe I can work on plans for the car and not just a catchy title!!!

Still want that Anvil firebird hood though!!!!!!!!!

Totem,

by the way do you do any art work for hire? I have some ideas for a logo for the fenders but I am not artistic.

Nice! I was forced to write a poem for English 102 and I wrote one about my firebird. Not sharing that, though. So don't ask. :Alchy:

Cool! Let me know if it doesn't make sense or if you need any other info. I thought the robotic imagry in alot of your work would be perfect.

Thanks again

can't wait to see renderings. Helps motivate me to work on mine. I have a wish list, but not the checkbook to go along with it.

I know the feeling. I am working on my design ideas and trying to work out the details. I am finishing up my jeep mods so I can leave it alone. I then want to get the image out of my head and onto something I can look at. That way I can have a final goal to work towards. I learned on the jeep that just doing things without a final goal in mind makes for a convoluted path, and lots of rework. It will take time still to afford it, but it will make for a single path to the end with minimal backtracking I hope.
