I have a 67 Camaro with Chrome trim around windows, the drip rails, any idea if these can be sanded and painted by a shop, or do I need to buy special ones meant to be painted. Also has anyone seen a 67 with a painted from bumper, like some of the 69's have? Sorry this is my first muscle car. Had BMW's before and got into this by a friend.

get them powdercoated, most places will mediablast etch it and powdercoat, I've done it before and it's by far hands down the best method,
I've even tried to scrape the coating off with sharp razor blade,it will not come off, chip or scratch,

Can they match it to my paint? My car is Indigo Racing Blue. Or maybe I could just get them powder coated black.

they can get some colors very close, if it don't match, just scuff and paint them,

wow never knew that, maybe Ill get the side chrome powder coated too. You know the lower wide chrome piece that came on the RS/SS camaros. I got the car and it already had a greatpaint job with no rust so not worth taking them off and painting it. Pretty sure its not painted under. But would be cool to powder coat. Think it'd look weird with black lower piece and black drip rails and black trim around windshield and rear window? Eventually CF hood and trunk. Maybe even coat my wheels flat black to match. So wheels, drip rails, all chrome molding, bumpers, all flat black. Bad ass or stupid and tacky?

I like all blacked out trim, matching wheels should look good too. I don't think the cost of powdercoating will be any cheaper if you blasted the pieces, but it won't hurt to call and ask before you spend few hours. Post pics when done.

We used to sand blast and paint chrome trim all the time in the 80's. I would go with the blue. It's one of those things that wants you start painting some chrome trim, you will want to do it all ( door handles ,doorlocks ,wheel well molding ,mirrors and bumpers) But not the rims. Good luck!

Etch them with a fine media blast like garnet, glass, or mineral. Then spray an aluminum etching primer and paint.
