I have been looking at different ideas for my 69 camaros rear suspension and it is making my head spin lol. I would like to build my car for performance driving on the street and road course. I am looking to run about 500hp at the flywheel and would like a nice agressive lowered stance (wheel wells lined up with the tops of the rims). What would be best for my application? Im looking for a bolt in setup if possible. Should I do a modded stock style or a 3 link or a 4 link? Airbags or drop springs? Thanks in advance for your help.
This is one of the setups I was considering http://www.jegs.com/i/Air+Ride/029/ABAR20100/10002/-1

If I were going to build a street/track '69 Camaro right now, I would look into:
1) Prodigy's coilover 4-link
2) Air Ride's 4-link
3) BMR's Torque Arm leaf setup
4) Chassiworks 4-link
These seem to be the most popular at this time.

No body has mentioned leaf springs because, while a VERY effective suspension system, they do a poor job of separating you from your money.

For just about the same price you could install a torque arm suspension. Our kits our 100% bolt-in and require ZERO welding or fabrication. Follow the links below to see them installed on some other members rides:

I have the Alston G-bar and love it. Bolt in, adjustable, handles power VERY well and a great investment overall. Frank's Prodigy bar is even better and you get Frank's ear. No brainer to me.

Dont get me wrong I like leafs too, but link systems have some big benefits over leafs. There's a reason why OEMs quit using them years ago.

Ah yes the always intimidating Ford Ranger! I think you need some slapper bars for the 180HP to hook it up my brother

BMRtech I have used BMR parts on a few of my old thirdgen camaros and was very pleased with the quality of the torque arms especialy.
Im still very torn it seems the popular choice is prodigys stuff however I am not a great welder so I am a lil nevous that in the end that will cost me the most money and im not sure if it will be worthwhile performancewise. Im looking to get the most bang for my buck installed even if its not the very best out there. Im currently not doing the greatest financialy so im scraping to build this car the way I want it.

Well first I would like to say that performance-wise, I don't think you can go wrong with any of the kits that are popular on this forum. One things for sure, there are a lot of options out there. Some of the kits are labor intense and require lots of fab and welding while some only require minimal welding to the rear end housing. Our kit doesn't require any welding. Alternatively, there is another option you might consider. As mentioned earlier in the post, the leaf spring can be made to handle fairly well and we offer a means of upgrading incrementally if money is tight right now. Our torque arm by itself will work with your existing leaf springs and will keep the initial expense more manageable. You could install just the torque arm and transmission cross-member for now, keep your leaf springs then go back later when funds are more available and purchase the rest of the kit. The torque arm itself controls spring wrap and maintains correct pinion angle similar to a set of traction bars but without all of the disadvantages. This may not be a perfect solution but a lower cost step in the right direction....Just throwing the option out there, most people don't realize this is an option.
