Haven't got enough goodies for my El Camino to really get busy on it yet, not to mention it's raining. But I thought I'd take the time to show my other A-body. It's mostly stock mechanically, save for the airbags. The only suspension upgrade is a fat sway bar from a Camaro. Healthy Olds 350 and a turbo 400. It's a cruiser, but it moves along pretty well.

It's regular rolling stock is o/t for sure, but one day a while back I borrowed a pair of TTII's just to see "what if." Before it's most recent incarnation, it had some 16" GTA wheels I modified to accept the factory 14" caps.

Even in it's current state, I couldn't wait to autocross it when Goodguys came through town. It was a little embarrassing but so much fun I didn't care.

I'll have to roll it out of the garage and see what it looks like with the BMW/BBS wheels slated for the Elky.

Is that a large dent in front of the rear wheel well?

If so, we have the matching dent on the other side! Ha ha!

Haha, I noticed that too. I got a little bump on the passenger rear quarter and it put a nice little oil can on the drivers side. Fixed the pass. side, haven't gotten around to this dent yet.

Carefull what you post on the net. Your "THEM" buddies might see the TT2's and you will never be seen or heard from again. :rotfl:

Thanks guys!

Haha, "They!" have seen it. I bet I took those pictures a good 2+ years ago. They haven't yet disowned me for the El Camino, though I wont dare run a plaque on it.

Glad to see others have the same opinion on TT2's as I do! Ha!

Its was kind of an inside joke. If you look at the plaque in the back window it says THEM. Its a group of guys in this area that build pretty much only traditional rods and customs like what you would see on the HAMB. Mr Anderson is part of the group and has a really cool roadster pickup. If I had the time and money I would love to have a traditional rod to add to my collection.

There are some guys on the HAMB that are really tallented. I have seen some awesome projects on there.

Update!

I painted the car in March, just the bottom half keeping the two-tone. It had some Cragar SS's with skinny whitewalls on it for the last couple years...had a real lowrider look. I got very tired of the problems I was having with my airbags, so I pulled them off and put springs back in.

Got my new wheels and tires today, had the tires mounted and couldn't wait to get them on the car when I got home. 15"x7" TTD's, BFG Radial T/A 225/60 on the front and 245/60 on the rear. Going to have to make a little more room out back for the tires because it's a little snug, but the look is just right. Coming soon....white vinyl top to cover up the no-longer-appropriate flake roof. Sorry for the poor phone pics.

Looks great. The vinyl top will compliment it perfectly

Here is our original Green/White top factory 4spd car. The top is painted and is how they did it in '64. So... I really think you should paint it rather than do a vinyl top. That would be the right look for that year.

Maybe so, I guess it's a good thing this isn't a 100 point restoration.

Future (soon) plans also call for putting the stock grill back in it....which I have looked all over for but can't find. Argh!!!

Put some different springs in the back to raise it up just a hair more. Mo betta. Took some better pictures too.
