Those do look tasty!
Any plan to make them in a stepped-lip version?
JustinB

They can be had in a step lip in the 17 and 18" sizes. Custom backspacing available to fit just about any application. I absolutely love these wheels.

Those are awesome. I am just now coming around to the Mini-Lite look, but these are unique enough and yet still give a nod to the originals. Well done! Can't wait to see installed pics.

Thanks everyone! I'm glad you guys like the new wheel! I think it will fill a void that everyone has been waiting so desperately to fill.
I'm definitely looking forward to making this wheel in more finishes, like matte gun metal, matte black, brushed and clear, and dare I say it... race gold! Lets do it guys!
would love to see pics in a stepped-lip, I'm likin' the wheel!

Have you given any thought to producing them in 15" diameter?
To the best of my knowledge, all similar wheels (in 15" dia.) are cast. I would think a NewGen Lite in 15" would be considerably lighter than a cast wheel.
A 17" wheel is just a little too big for my Vega. :naughty:

If you really want 15" wheels, you can get the real deal. Minilite still makes the wheel in 15x8.

These are three piece wheels right (Front barrel, back barrel and center chunk?) ??? Then welded? Just stack em together for us and snap a pic. They don't need to be finish welded to get the idea. Should be a piece of cake.

Nick,
These are two piece welded wheels, like a Budnik, Intro, Rushforth, Bonspeed, etc. Unfortunately, its not as easy as that. A center has to be machined, and then heat pressed into an outer.
We did just have a customer order a custom three piece version of this wheel though, he went "all out". So when that wheel center is finished, I"ll see about bolting it into a step lip outer for you guys.
Or, someone could just order them that way.... :enguard:
LOL

LOL, I would love to... If only you had these out a year ago... :hand:
That makes sense, I wasn't sure how these worked.
The only way I am replacing my Team III's is if I need more clearance for brakes. Then you just may be getting a phone call from me.

I will have photos of a soft lip black/charcoal (which are for my 70 Nova) in 24 hours.
I could also post photos of them in black/charcoal StepLip, but the customer wants the honors of posting those. ;)
I also have photos of the step lips in raw machined ready to post, but I'm honoring the customers wishes and not posting them yet until he is given the opportunity to post them. (Unless he tells me its okay).

Thanks for the price. Now have to figure out what to do since you can't do a 17X9, can't fir a 10 and an 8 isn't enough. Don't really want to go 18, trying to keep an earlier look. Too many dilemma's

It looks like when the spokes meet the center on the black wheel that they are more defined, They seem to be more rounded.. the others look to gradually fade into the centers..

I definitely prefer the look of the smooth transition. Much more authentic looking. I'd be much more interested in the former than the latter.

I do like both styles -- one more vintage and the other a more modern take, but I also prefer the previous, more "vintage" looking style myself.

For the three piece, we looked at countless center forgings, and modeled it a hundred different ways before we chose the final product (what you see here). Also, the forging had to be available in step lip diameters, and soft lip diameters, and have a pad length long enough to clear 6 piston brakes. All things considered, we chose the best of the best we could. The three piece forgings have a much "thinner" cross section, and there just is not enough thickness to round off the spoke anymore than what we've done, and this was the "best" forging to use that is available.
I think the wheel looks killer both ways. The 3 piece is little more of a modern interpretation of its vintage two piece counter part, and I think definitely get's the point across.
