Greets!

I'm considering getting my '68 vinyl wrapped. While researching a wrap shop, I found one that charges by the square foot. SO, does anyone know the surface area of a '68 Camaro?

Thanks!

Thanks for your opinion(s). Welcome to 2010. :poke:

For some reason I feel the need to explain my decision...

I can't afford paint and I'm ignorant in the ways of doing it myself CORRECTLY. I can't make sense of all the different types of paints, the methods used in prep and finish, etc. It's not straight forward. Vinyl, to me, is straight forward. pick a color, stick it on, quickly. Another reason the vinyl solution works for me is the fact that I drive the sh*t out of my car. I'd feel better about tearing my wrap than dinging my $15k paint job. Come to think of it, if I had it painted, I'd probably wrap it to protect it anyway.

My experience with body shops is more of an observation: 3 friends, 4 vehicles, 4 different body shops, the past 3 years. The jobs were late, MUCH more expensive than expected, and the quality of the work wasn't worth the wait or the money paid. This is just my personal observation...I'm not considering the horror stories posted on this site and others. I know there are good experiences/shops out there, you just don't hear about them. I'm sure they're in the minority, though.

I'm old and I live in the snow belt. The only good time to lay the car up for an extended period of time at the body shop is during the winter months when I don't drive it. If I do that, my car's priority is lowered while the priority of the escalating number of gravy insurance jobs goes up (snow falls, people forget how to drive, they crash). Guess what happens then. My classic gets pushed OUTSIDE until they have room and time. As a result, I'm driving in July instead of April. The PowerTour is in June. For an extra $5k or so I could avoid all that; about as I could vinyl wrap the car a couple or 3 more times

Anyway, if anyone has the spec, it'd be much appreciated.

Off the soapbox,
