Hi All,

I have a 1967 Camaro with a 383 and a 700r4. I wanted to put some billet 17's on my car and wanted to see if I could use 2 17x7's in front and 2 17x8 or larger on the rear. I have no desire to tub or mini tub my car.

I'm doing a full hotchkis suspension upgrade with 1.5 inch drop multi leaf and Wilwood 6 piston 12.19 disk in front and 4 piston 12.19's in the rear. I'll also be running QA1 gmp1450-1 coil overs for the front.

On tires I really like the nitto nt05 for the front and nitto nt01's in the rear.

I was also thinking of possibly using boyd f22's but I cant them to call me back are they out of business or?

Please feel free to comment on my choices and options. I'd also love to see some 67 or 68 camaro pics with 17's tucked under and know the actual tire sizes. Thank you all in advance for all your help!!

David

You can fit 8" wide fronts and 9.5" wide rears easily, with the proper backspacing. Most use a 245 front tire, and a 275 rear tire.

Exactly what Nine Ball said. You could even go 18's if you like...

I went 17x8's on the four corners with different sized tires. i can't remember the tire size right now though.

You shouldn't have any issues fitting the car, from what I've read.
There are many options available in 17 and larger that will fit nicely on your car!!
I would stay away from the Boyd wheels, right now anyway. Nobody in the business can give you a delivery time!!!! If they do--its simply a guess!! Most of the venders on here will not do business that way!!
Feel free to check out the website and call. I will help any way that I can!!

I run 17x8 front, 245/45/17 and 17x9 rear 255/50/17 - I like the 27" tall rear tire a bit better on a 67/68, on a 69 I'd use a 275/45 rear - pics in my garage linked below. -Dan

68Sixspeed, I'm looking for the same setup for my 68 Firebird. What backspacing did you use? Thanks!

Hi Jeff, I'm just getting into my restoration of my 67 Camaro RS/SS Convertible and I really like the looks of your 68. Do you mind telling me what type and size of wheels and tires you went with? I'm wanting to go with Wheel Vintiques billet series 90 and I believe that's the wheels that you have. Any help would be very much appreciated!:)

Thanks,
Morey

For all of you that are in need of an exact offset and want to know what dimensions are needed to build a wheel so that the tire doesn't rub, please jump over to my website, www.wheelworksinc.com and check out the Tire MountMate. Your life will be much easier if you use this tool. David at Newstalgia just came on board as a distributor. You can get it from either of us.
