85 AE86 Corolla

I know it is not quite PT but I have been helping a friend do a 4AGE 16V swap with dual Weber carbs in his car for drifting and I will be honest it has got me interested in it and maybe do one of my own one day. I tried talking him into an LS1-2 swap but he is too Yota to go for domestic power. But, the more I read and look at these cars the more it sparks my interests. I am just curious how many of you have messed with or built any tuner drift or corner carvers. We just stabbed the motor and tranny in today and should be runnin this weekend. :idea:

Never expected to see this thread on here, lol, peaked my interest when I saw the title.

As for building tuners, my other car is a Honda CRX... my friends all own some stage of tuner (or in some of their cases rice) cars that we all built together before I joined the military.

I think the count is my CRX, a 300zx, an Eclipse GST, a couple Civics (both EGs), and a Supra Turbo (Gen III).

When we first started working on cars they were all we could afford.

I tried doing a search over on club4ag.com to see if there was a thread about the Corolla you're working on but didn't find anything. Is there a build thread anywhere on it?

I've still got an 88 Nova Twin Cam that came with the T-VIS engine I bought new for the wife back then. Flew up to CT a couple weeks ago to fetch it and drove it down to FL. Going to sell it very soon, no place to keep it and have too many cars.

I have a friend that did the SR swap into one and loves it. BTW tell your yota buddy there is always the 1uzfe I have a lexus sc400 as a daily and it runs great its toyota and a v8

A 4age 16v swap with a turbo would rock that car. Although if you'd build it na with 13:1 pistons and straight e85 and let it rev to the moon, it would put a smile on your face too.

NOT A TA, I've always wanted to get one of the FWD corollas, again for the great MPG they got. --used to have one. But I have too much fun dailying one of my other cars [RWD].
