eDEAD 80 Sound Deadner??

Has anyone used this product? I was going to go with fatmat but I heard asphalt based is not the way to go. Then I found edead with was butyl based and still in the price range.

I can't afford dynamat so... that's out of the picture.

please let me know if you have had any experience with these brand? It'll be for a 67 camaro. I wold guess 90 square ft should be enough?

Can't say that I have used that before, but if you are looking for a low cost alternative to Dynamat, I went with Second Skin, and am really happy with it. Car is so much quieter than it was prior! Ands IIRC, it was about half the cost of Dynamat. Just no logo for your pics.

I used eDead in my Camaro but have not had it on the road yet. The adhesive went bad before I had a chance to use it, but then again it had been three years ;-) I used 3M super adhesive and it sticks without a problem. I have somewhere around 200 sq ft in the car in both thicknesses. Not sure about the newer stuff, but did hear that the adhesive is supposed to be better.

I went with Fatmat in Cullen's 66 chevelle. Went in w/o a hitch, very quiet and inexpensive. It's been in a year now w/no issues. Worked out so well I'm going to use it in the bird.

I used Edead on a 65 chevelle I had. Great product. Very comparable to Dynamat in performance and application, but more cost effective.

My opinion....Dynamat is still the best. Most stereo shops will get competitive with the price on Dynamat. It's usally better to find a good local dealer as shipping can be expensive. 109 is a great price if the shipping don't kill you. I buy it locally for 140 out the door for a mega pak

I would say the best I've seen is Second Skin. Used it, Dynamat, and (unfortunately) Fatmat. I'll never use Fatmat again. Dynamat is good. Second Skin Damplifier Pro is simply better. I found it to really be about the same price as Dynamat. However, it's a thicker mill material, adheres wonderfully, and is easy to work with.

Damplifier Pro has 6.5mil foil, and is just over 2mm thick.
Dynamat Extreme has 4mil foil, and is 1.7mm thick

eDead 80 doesn't look bad. It's about the same total thickness of Damplifier Pro, but there is very little technical information available, so it's hard to know any other details.

Fatmat is cheap for a reason. I'm not saying it's junk. But it's just not in the same class. It has 3mm foil, is overall thinner, and regardless of what they say on their site, I've found that it just does not adhere well at all.

Any of them are an improvement.

I used Second Skin, Damplifier Pro in my car and used it sparingly in a few places like the doors to save weight. I had areas that would resemble a drum for noise just by tapping on it, when done it was gone. It was amazing how much reduction there was. I have had no vibration noise from my interior at all and it is also reducing the heat in the car as well.

If I had to do it again I would use Damplifier Lite because the pro worked so well that I really think I could have saved money and weight and gotten the results I was looking for. 1 week after I installed it they came out with the Lite.

It was very easy to work with and it doesn't smell. I also used it on my aluminum headliner and door panels and when I tested it for fire safety it was very difficult to get it to bubble or burn which is something I was concerned with for what I wanted for my interior.

If you watch and sign up for email with specials from them ,you may at times be able to get some really good discounts and even factory seconds at blowout prices which can save you a lot.

I'm using the eDead V3 brush on and the going over it with the V4 Teklite. I really like the look of the brush on, it lays down really nice. I did 4 coats of the V3 with Teklite on top.

Here's some pictures with the teklite on top of the V3. Elemental Designs is a local company, about 30 miles from me, that's the biggest reason I bought their stuff. They're great people to deal with and I'm very happy with the product.

I have it in my GTI and in my 70 Camaro . Lite weight and quiets the interior .

Thanks! Was that your car that I saw that on? I modified the stock wiper transmission with a turn buckle from an old snowmobile tie rod end so I could adjust the length. I bought the wiper motor on Ebay for $40 ,I think, brand new for a 05 buick. Cut the 05 bell crank and welded it to the original bell crank. Then I took apart a GM multi function switch that I removed from a customers car that had a problem in the turn signal circuit. I removed the housing from the original wiper switch and attached it to the wiper switch section of the multi function switch, and then modified the shaft so I can use a 1/4 inch billet knob. Doesn't look the best from the back of the dash, but looks stock from the front and works great. Very cheap wiper upgrade!

I do believe I was the 1st to do it? I came up with it by neccessity back farther than I can remember and have been happy with it. I think I remember messaging a few times about it with you.I was originally going to use an escort motor but by the time I got around to modifying the switch I was working on and the fact that if it ever went bad I would be cussing myself I decided to go mainstream with the DSE setup in case I ever sold the car. The next time it is just a call and it is easy peizy not sleazy.

My old arm was so eaasy to mod it only took about an hour and it was done.

I am glad to see it worked out so well for you, it makes me proud to see I came up with a good idea that can be done cheap and easy or mainstream and a guy can do it himself. It definately makes it just as easy as anything else to work on.
