Sorry guys,

Idk if I just dont get it but I spend around 30 minutes trying to figure out how these clips and moldings go on. I dont want to force anything on but does anyone have any pictures or anything?

the clips slide in the molding and do you just push?

the clip is held on with pins on the body then push the moulding into the channel. They should then pop in.

ok, I'm looking through the parts guides. (I dont have a restoration manual)

are the front and rear clips different?

It can be confusing, Dan. I just did the rear window on my 68. I have original trim and used the red wide clips offered by Steve's Camaro Parts. Good site and he's very helpful. Are you looking at front or rear, repro trim or original? The clips go over studs. The trim snaps down over the clips. I needed to use the heel of my hand and smack them down over each clip.

I'm trying to do the front and the rear. I have most of the OEM trim and like 2 pieces that are new repo ones because the other ones are bent.

oh got ya....the fronts and rears are different from the factory. But they are interchangable. The fronts are larger and side on to the stud sidways. fronts

The rears push straight down.

Steves Camaros is a great resource.

Repops suck, the metal is so different and may not grasp onto the clip properly. Also sometimes the shape might be sighly off and might make installation difficult. I like to hang the trim on without clips to make sure its shaped and contoured properly before installing the retaining clips.

It can indeed be confusing. On my 68 the rear clips (original) slid on to the post and were these:

:sighs:

Looks like I just have the rear clips. I need to get the fronts ones I guess. I'll see what I can do with the rear for now.

I really need a restoration book.... haha
