Its a blistering 5º here, and will be so the next 10 days or so. With that in mind, I need to insulate 2 garage doors. Has anyone done so? Whats a the best method/material to use? TIA

Foamboard cut t0 fit inside the garage panels. Easy to cut and adhere. You can find it at Lowe's and Home Depot in the same aisle as the insulation. THe thicker the board the more r-value.

I used 3/8ths thick P2000 on mine. Just overlayed the whole door and screwed it on with drywall screws and plastic washers. This stuff is great! The door temp went from about ambient outside to the same temp as the shop on the inside... I have pics on Garage Journal. Do a search and look for astroracer. I can't get to the site at work so, if you can't find it, I'll load a pic tonite.

Upon further inspection, looks like I have an insulated door. But it appears to be just sytrofoam. The manufacturer says its an R5 rating.

The other issue is weight. I dont want to add too much that it effects the function.

I'd also like to seal the edges and I can see daylight though one of them and I don't want to interfere with the door itself.

They sell kits for weatherstripping the sides and top. Make sure to check your bottom rubber seal.
