When it is all said and done you will have a registered relatively rare firebird, that has been modified to look like a relatively common Camaro. I hate to see a hard to find car ruined. Not that your Camaro won't be nice, but it will have ruined what could have been a true hard to find Firebird.

But I am somewhat of a purist and I don't even like chevyized power plants in an old Pontiac.

Kind of makes me think of the Ferrari fascia on a Corvette.

But Good luck :)

Thanks man and I understand where you are coming from, This car was given to my from my uncle as a gift to start a project and we had the choice and thought about it for a long ass time and for as long as I can remember I have always wanted a 69 Camaro and I am a huge chevy fan, I know you can go buy a new camaro body but thats 12,000 dollars I dont have that. And for rarity the place my uncle got it at, the place had 3 of them one convertible and two coupes. I got the coupe and my uncle got the convertible and I believe he is keeping it a bird.

(change of plans)

Been doing alot of thinking and think I'm Going to build a street/strip car some slicks skinnies and a 4 inch cowl hood with a big block underneath to back it up will be a big a change of direction! Be a less expensive build compared to a pro-touring type car

Why you may ask?
I wanna race at the drag strip and I already have a big block which is a heavy motor not ideal for a pro touring style, plus won't handle good with a big motor in there. I wanna run low 11s all motor

a little flat black https://static1.pt-content.com/images/noimg.gif

BOOM
I already have a 454 with a th400 at my uncles house right now until im ready for the motor

heres a little more info on what I am doing
built 454 (heads, cam and all the other goodies)
8 or 10pt cage
9 inch
th400
slicks and skinnies
sheetmetal dash all pro comp gauges

much more stuff as well

Well alot has changed since I last posted (motor wise), So I am getting a very good deal on a ls1/t56 full pull out of a wrecked WS6 (thanks to SLOMARO). Plans are to build the ls1 (heads, cam, intake, forged internals for nitrous) I am going to be putting the th400 on the ls1 with a decent sized stall and we are going to be putting the t56 in my dads 70 z-28.
So with a h/c/1 ls1 on spray the car should weigh around 2960 lbs hoping to run mid to high 10s now.

Already working a deal on some patriot LS6 heads with (Bosstedss) probably going with a ms3 cam and the vic jr edlebrock pro flo intake manifold as well.

Just a little update for everyone.

would of grinded the welds down but ran out of the disks, these welds were not constant ie weld 4 in one spot then another spot, then another to keep the metal from heating up and warping so it couldnt be a constant bead they will be grinded off soon anyway
