My '68 Charger is currently on a rotisserie. I am planning on replacing the floors, putting in sub frame connectors, welding up the sub frames seams to the rest of the body and installing a 3 link rear suspension. Then it will get Eastwood's undercoating. The front suspension will all be bolt on stuff. The car will also be getting a cage, but I think that should not be a big problem with it off the rotisserie. Is there anything else big that I am missing that would be better off done before I bring the car back down? It is about as stripped as I want it to get.

I do not know what kind of rotisserie set up you have. Unless it has some way of supporting the center of the uni body, we never cut anything off except maybe some small sheetmetal patches in the floors. The car is under to much stress to cut off large exterior panels. And no way would I put a cage in a car that is under impoper stress. I like them on their tires or a jig.

Its just a simple setup I made from 4x4's and fence rail tubing, its in my avatar. I know it small but I cannot get to my photobucket on the work computers.

I was thinking about it not being a good idea to remove the floors with the car on the rotisserie. Im now thinking it may be better to put the rear suspension in and weld the ends of the connectors to the sub frames and take the car down. Then cut out the floors and weld em in on the ground. I can always put it back up on the spit if I need to. I figured I mite just to make it easier to weld the connectors to the floor pan if I can put the car on its side. Im using the XV connectors that follow every contour of the pan.

besides the obvious prepping and painting/coating the under side I applied lots of good seam sealer to lap joints I would rather keep moisture out of like along rear frame rails, etc

Mine is now on a rotissairie but already has all new panels welded on. Just using the roto to install subframe connectors, then will get the underside bedliner sprayed and to fit and install the rear suspension.... now just need to get off my ass and give Frank a call to get that suspension ordered!

When my son and I did his car on a rotisserie, we didnt have any panels to change so we blasted it all over, did the whole bottom in paint matched bed liner, did the whole interior with LizzardSkin, put all the suspension back on, did all the wiring, installed the interior, (was nice to do the headliner with the car upside down o and so was the gas tank), painted the body, jams ect, and slapped the wheels and tires on it, then we took it off. We tried to do as much as we could before it came off. It was nice to turn it on its side and do the under dash wiring, vintage air heat/ac system, ducting ect. If you have body panels and such to cut and change, I would think you could have it turned upright and put some blocks under the frame so its not hanging from both ends and you might dare do some surgery at that point.

My car was on the rotisserie and the build just got bigger and bigger. I decided to install the 3/4 chassis but new i couldnt do that on the rotisserie. I just laser levelled the car and built a ride height frame table underneath the car to support/brace it.
