MMMM i always had a sweet spot for the 2nd gen birds. Call me lame but its mainly because of Smokey and the Bandit. Are you guys going with the same color scheme, or switching it up?

It will be a smoky and the bandit theme black and gold ....and no its not on air ..its coil over ...the car has been channeled down on the frame thats why it looks so low it actually has more ground clearance than a stock one ..We are hoping to have the car finished fairly soon ...and ill fill in any details you guys want to know ...ask away and ill answer

Outstanding build....I love 2nd gen F-bodies. My 71 is down to a bare roller at the moment and I can't beileve the amount of mods you guys have down to that body. Too cool!
That is going to be an insane ride. Looks amazing.

What does channeled down mean lol
We cut the origanil floors out ...put a full chassis under the car and sank the body down as low as we could (channeled ) while still giving the driver just enough room to drive the car >>>if the owner wasnt so damn tall I would have sank it down lower...We are doing a chevy II right now and that is what we are doing to it the owner of that car is shorter so we can drop the body even farther over the frame that car will be canned yet still have good ground clearance under neath it so it will be drivable ...

The build looks great so far.

Our shop is in Surrey/Langley bc canada
The inner fenders, glass, metal,...?
This car looks great. I want to get my car that low one day. I figured it would take channeling it to get it that low. What did you do for the rear since the outer fenders are just on the other side of the inner fenders? Typically that keeps the back from going very low and still be functioning correctly. I'm guessing the morrison chassis design took care of that though.
Thanks

Very nice...is that a Year One F'glass nose?
Radical Rides
01-01-2010, 10:05 AM
Ya thats what it started out as ...it was pretty rough though we had to do alot of work to get it fit and get it striaght nothing fit we also added the fog light holes the customer liked the look of it on the year one bandit they built

A poster on Transamcountry.com had issues with the "non" fit of the Year One nose as well.....and yet another guy spent a huge amount of time fixing a VFN nose for his 77 because of poor workmanship/molding.....is it too much to ask that someone make a fibreglass nose that does actually fit the front of a Firebird?

Radical Rides

No the wheels are from forgeline ...

The problem with someone making a good fiberglass nose is the time and money involved to make it ...by the time you find a good rubber nose and make it good enuff to pull a mold of off it is worth so much money no one is willing to pay for it ...the year one nose is a good start but it does require alot of work .. it all depends on what your expecting as a final product we spent a ton of time on this one cause we want it perfect ....We looked at pulling a mold of it but we figured it wouldnt be practical unless I had a few people that where comited to buying them ...we are more than capable of building a perfect fit nose ...but im betting for the time involved it would expensive

I just found a 81 Trans Am for cheap. I like the looks of the 77-78 nose better though. are the noses interchangable?
tonykim
04-03-2010, 11:30 AM
I believe the noses are interchangeable. there's probably inner bumper structure you'd have to swap also.

Yes, the inner structure has to go with it. Might as well take the inner tail panel and taillights (like Year One does w its Bandits) to make it really look like a 78. Sorry for the high jack.

Are those fiberglass doors? If so where'd they come from and how do they work with the window regulators and parts. They would shave a significant amount of weight off of these cars as the doors weigh a ton!
