The truck that I saw is a '05 Chevy truck it has 176,000 miles on it.

The person asking $8,000. It this a good buy?

Do you have any suggestions?

no way, i got mine for 10,000 with 36000 and 4.3, 5 speed, most of the v-8 trucks are going for 8 to 12k with less 60000 mile on them

If all you have is 8 to play with, I would look for an older one with less miles on it. Personally, I would never drop that kind of money on a vehicle with that many miles on it.

but a lot will depend on what it is too. Extended cab, v-8, 4x4,... options... they all play into the value of the truck and in a dramatic way.

The truck have 5.3 v8, 4x4, extended cab, bed liner.

I just picked up a '05 GMC Sierra. 4.8/5speed RCSB with 57000 miles. It is clean and has new tires, brakes, and line-x bed. They had it listed for $11,990 I talked them down to $9,990. The bank would only finance $9,500

I'll chime in, that is to many miles, look for something else....

I have an 05 crew cab Chevy loaded with every option and a 5.3 with 82k miles and would probably be lucky to get 14k for it.
