Hello Pro-Touring,
I'm back into the automotive addiction after over a decade of just driving and watching. After several years of playing the street & strip thing with the daily driver, I saw the limitations of both. I tried the IMSA thing with a '74 Monza, but wanted something else. I was in the kit car business for a while... but again, wanted something different. Then along came R.J. Gottlieb and "Big Red" at the Silver State Classic. It took Mark Stielow to built the Mule in the pages of PHR before I began feel that this was possible for me.

So, here I sit. I have 8 incomplete cars with potential (potential is a really nice word for all the things a car doesn't have... yet). I have tools, machinery and a tiny amount of skill. I have dreams (Pro-Touring 1970 Cougar Eliminator). What I'm really bad at is planning a build correctly. I've been waiting for the Stielow book, "Building the Mule" to come out because I hear he expands on that area. Searching for that book is how I found this forum. Any assistance with planning (or any other area you feel needs addressing) will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for reading,

Welcome to the forum. Can we ask what the 8 cars are? BTW got any pics of the IMSA Monza? I love all things IMSA and have an IMSA Fiero, which sadly I am looking to sell to afford Vette brakes for my wagon.

I, too, am inspired by IMSA cars. I was a huge fan of the GTP class. It was also fun to watch the GTO and GTU cars run. Alas, I let the the Monza go in '91. It was orange and black and I was swapping in a Buick V6. I never completed the car (a recurring theme in my life) and let it go to a very enthusiastic young man who I hoped would finish it. I can poke around in the pictures an see if I have any in "analog" format.

The 8 cars (thanks for asking) are:
'71 BMW 2002
'76 BMW 2002
'84 BMW 533i
'68 Plymouth Sport Fury
'85 Mustang GT (2.3L T)
'68 Ford F100 (Daily Driver)
'71 Ford F100
'78 Jeep Cherokee Chief

As for pictures, I'll get to working that in... but for now just picture a bad example of each and add some pine needles and ankle high grass and you wont be far off.

Thank you all for the warm welcome. It's nice having neighbors (19sixtynine, youthpastor). ProdigyCustoms, I got your PM and I noticed the part about project planning in your signature. We'll be in touch.

Welcome! Make sure you hook up with Frank - he's a good guy to know with lots of good advice as well as a great source for stuff!

I see the two 2002's. Great little cars! I used to have a 2002tii that I did a little work to. What a fun car - wish I still had it.

Yes, they're a bit of an addiction. Never had a tii, but the '76 got worked over by Top-End Performance 14yrs ago. Something about a 2L engine in a 2K lb. car, independent rear....but you know the story.:yum:
