Just joined and would like to introduce my car. A 65 Lemans slightly cloned to GTO . I inherited this car from my brother when he died in 05 about 10% done, he was an autotech by trade and he was building this to be a daily driver to help promote his business (classic car restoration and maintenance) So I am trying to build something he would be proud of. heres whats been done so far
04 GTO LS1 with 6 speed ( this was installed by my brother)
Global West Tubular control arms with QA1 coilovers, 2" drop spindles
Global West Tubular rear lowers, edelbrock adjustable upper, QA1 shocks,
Front disc conversion, complete Painless wiring(80% done), Vintage air heating and cooling system ( 50% installed)
frame- sandblasted and coated with POR-15 , the whole underside of the car and the firewall and inner fenders have also been stripped and coated with POR-15
car has been stripped and painted
new grills, rechromed bumpers, all new weather stripping, new mirrors, doorhandles, locks, new gas tank, fatmat sound insulation,
I work with carbon fiber (build racing sailboats) so I have made a few parts to accent the car- upper and lower grill headers, dash, grab bar, rear package tray, sail panels rear seat dividers, rear tail panel, and I will be making a center console after I get the seats in (06 GTO)
the car is coming along and I hope to share pics and get info from some here that I am sure have more experience than I do when it comes to car building- the 1st pic is how the car WAS

Also, if you guys get stuck in a rut or need any work done, you are not too far from Pete's shop in MA, COMPETITION SPECIALTIES, aka., COMP-SPEC.
They do a lot with Camaro Performers magazine and are great people to work with. Pete and Brian are great with cars and know their stuff. They are doing Tony's "KARMA", which most of you may know and are due to be building Nick Licatta's '70 Camaro, ORANGE KRATE with DSE front and rear suspension after Karma is complete. (Can't wait to see that one!!):1st:

while shops are on topic I will recommend Flynn Automotive in Narragansett, I've known Vinny for over 30 years and he is an A1 tech and can build hot rods- he has a 850 whp 68 Chevelle that is INSANE- he is my tech for this build- I will also throw out a word of caution to stay away from:machine: COASTLINE COLLISION also in Narragansett-this guy is a rip off.
Idesigner-car storage is very tuff with no garage but look on craigslist- I always see people advertising garage storage in provi
