Pro-touring Tahoe???????

I Have A 1999 Tahoe 2wd, Lowered 4" All Around With 17" Wheels And Big Swaybars. I Am Thinking Of Buiding The Tahoe Pro-touring Style. I Need Some Pros And Cons. Any Ideas Would Be Greatly Appreciated. Thanks!!!!

I hear Hotchkis makes some killer stuff for 90's chevy trucks that make them handle better than some sports cars. I was helping somebody with a 1992 Pickup truck project and it was going to be built as a killer handler. Hotchkis had a bunch of goodies for it.

As I posted in another thread, this Tahoe is bad ass in person and a lot faster than you would imagine for such a huge vehicle. Even with the automatic, the tranny shifts so hard it will burn the tires when it hits 2nd gear. He is going to get Bose black wheels with silver outer lip but it looks great the way it sits in person. My girlfriend and I rode in last week. I rode in it all day on saturday in complete comfort and was surprised how well it went.
Here are some pics I took saturday of it. he definetly plans to pro-tour this and run it on a track. You are going to see some major improvements on this Tahoe like a supercharger so stay tuned.

I'll never consider a late model truck as "Pro-Touring". Guys have been building lowered trucks with nice suspensions, wheels, and brakes for years now. They are called "Sport Trucks". Just my opinion.

I had a black 82 Blazer (back when Blazers were full size) that was slammed, four fat tires, 90 vette tuned port engine, 700R4, GN 3.42 posi rear, Scat seats, etc. We called it Roadkill because it was low as low gets and ugly as hell thanks to rust.

I really loved that truck. Unfortunately, that era of GM truck will rust no matter what. So I sold it before the tailgate rusted off or something.

PROS:
-Lots of room for big tires WITH sidewall 45 series or higher looks right and works better.
-Numerous brake kits available
-Lots of aftermarket support: Exhaust, engine upgrades, exterior, interior
-Spacious, comfortable cabin
-Great for power touring
-Ideal for Power Tour
CONS:
-2WD models hard to find where I come from (NE)
-Frame rails well below rocker panels. Resist the urge to go too low.
-Gotta do your homework to separate the bling parts from the parts that actually work
-Weight
-Center of Gravity
-Suspension geometry optimized at stock ride height???? I don't know this but it's a good question.

Its not ProTouring but handled like hell Full AirRide shockwaves Hotchkis sway bars 20 inch billet wheels, for a full size truck it kicked ass Wish i never sold it

a 2-dr 2wd Tahoe would be the best choice for Pro-touring, but your 4-dr looks really nice. Then again a 2-dr 2wd tahoe is hard to find, I've seen maybe about 10 over the years
