Fail!
The car looks like viewed thru a wide angle lens, awful.
It's a love-it or hate-it kind of car.
I hate it.

Well, he did do a good job of making a 69 look as bad as a 2010....
not to my taste at all, but its the same with a lot of custom bodied cars, they reflect the builder/owners ideas and don't often appeal to a wide audience....look at most of Barris's later work for example....

It's ok..
They put a lot of work into it.
You can't really tell about any car from pictures.
You have to see it in person..
It may look better in person.

If you cut the tail and front valence off and just look at the fenders/doors and roof, there are some pretty cool touches. The front grill/bumper and rear valence just don't even come close to being right for me.

Where did you see this car? It was for sale about five miles from me most of last Summer. Just wondering if I've got Forum members in my neighborhood....:)

Have to totally agree with you about the car though.:screwy:

Wow you guys are harsh. I actually think it looks better than the new Camaro does. Its got a tough look and I dig that hood scoop.

Maybe I'm partial cuz I build my own cars at home too.

The execution looks really good to me, didn't blow up the photos though.

hey, try building your own bodywork sometimes you bolt on "hot rodders" !

I build my own cars too....... I doubt that very many people on this particular board are "bolt on hot rodders."

Regardless, that car is whack man. I mean obviously its his car and if he likes it thats all that matters, but there is way too much going on with it and none of the shapes and lines of the car really match up. Poor execution IMO.

Yeah just different opinions I guess. I mean I can see what you're saying there are a few proportions off, I'd definitely take out 10-15% of the pointiness of the front valance, I just don't think it looks that bad, in fact like I said I think it looks good. Just surprised at how harsh the reactions have been on this post and the cardomain comments on the link. I've seen a lot of uglier cars than this where people were a lot less negative. Must have touched a Camaro nerve or something. I'm not that big a fan of the new '10 Camaro styling either, so maybe I just don't get it.

I LIKE the new Camaros and I am sick of seeing this thing. I mean, beauty is in the eye of the beer-holder, but geez....

I think if he would have started with a '68, the final product would have looked a little better (I mean what the hell is up with leaving the '69 body line down the door?). The nose is too 'sharp' or 'pointy' looking. The rear is too fat and weird looking. If you're going to do that much work, why leave the vinyl top?

The ONLY thing that looks 'OK' are the fender flares.... if it would have been done on '68 fenders.

When you go that far out on a limb.....it usually breaks

taste and styling are so personal, if he was going for something marketable he missed...but if built to keep then it is perfect...I guess

remind me 2 never smoke what the builder smoked when he made the car
