Hi guys,
Im new to messing around with a/c compressors.
Im looking at buying a new compressor from ebay but it has the wrong pulley. it has a v-groove and I need a serpentine for my LS1. I know this is a stupid question but, is it a pain to change the pulley?
Im looking at getting a SD510.
Thanks!

Between having to buy another clutch and just buying on with the serp pulley already on it, the cost might not be worth it (unless you are getting a smoking deal on the other compressor). Shop around, the clutches run up to $100.

Thanks for the advice!
If its going to cost me $100 for the pulley then your right.
I can get the compressor for $100, which is very cheap.

That's an r-12 only compressor. It can be converted by changing out the oil. Be sure to change out the oil before using it w/ 134a. Also, it won't live quite as long on 134a as a newer compressor designed for it but still probably long enough. You still got a decent deal.

The r-12 compressor can be identified by the service ports in the head. 134a 508 compressors do not have ports.

i talked with him about that. He did some searching and gave me some information. In the end I bought it because it was a real good deal and wanted something to get my engine placement finalized.
