Are any of the roll/brush on bedliners any good? i would be looking to do the bed of my 08 silverado. Or should i just suck it up and pay to have it sprayed?
thank you

I've heard mixed reviews from all of the DIY liners. Rhino Liner is horrible IMO and Linex, which I've had done is great.

I don't think the DIY stuff would work out very well for an '08. I used the wally world roll on stuff in an '84 F150 I had and it made good coverage, but it is just hard to get an even thickness (or thickness at all for that matter). Plus, it is supposed to be applied to "bare" metal which means you have to sand off the paint and primer.
I too don't like Rhino.... I got a good deal to have my ranger done with a Vortex liner. It has held up very well in every aspect but the color. It ended up fading to a satin color very quickly (not glossy anymore). I have seen many trucks with Linex and think it is the best bang for the buck. I would go with Linex and let a professional install it (let them do all of the hard work). This way if something happens to it and it doesn't hold up, you have somebody to go back to.
Another thing.... Pull the stupid plastic rail covers off and let them wrap the liner onto the top edge. Also do the same on the tailgate.
Hope this helps...

Personally I like the rhino liner as it stops things from sliding around. Its also flexible and the dog likes standing on it. Yes it is prone to cutting and gouging. But that is a trade off I can live with. LineX is a hard liner similar to having a plastic liner. All in all both products are better than a drop in liner IMHO.

SPI www.southernpolyurethanes.com (http://www.southernpolyurethanes.com) also makes a good bediner and I used it on the bottom of my 68 Coupe.

I have read some good stuff re: the Linex liner. Read some of the off-road forums.
Oh, and the guys at smash labs (TV show) decided to do a show on the spray on liner, Rhino liner was the product. Was a pretty good demonstration. JR
Here is a clip of the show. Always nice to watch trucks being blown to bits. The untreated bed was in shreds. The treated bed was still whole, not holed. Fun to watch..

Rhino uses a polyurethane product. I would try and find a turbo liner in your area theirs is polyuria(not sure on spelling) witch is a far better liner. I know rhino has changed recently I think it is a polyurethane polyuria blend. I worked at a company that did spay in liners and you do want to use good material but in the end good stuff will still suck on a bad prep job.

There are a couple of companies that make some resonably priced spray on kits that come with the gun you need .
UPOL makes one called Raptor which I have found to be the best . its about $150 for a kit . I use it on all of my wheelwells
on the restoration stuff I do . I have done a couple tailgates as well and it looks as good as the professional stuff . Hope that
helps .

ebay kit called Liner Xtreeme. Worked out great for mine. Came with 2 gallons mixable for $150ish. Did the entire underside of the car and both tubs and the front wheel wells.
