OK, all of you guys out there who know a lot more than me about the market can you give me some advise. I have a 67 Pro touring Camaro (you can look at user "mroth" site) that is my 3rd complete restoration that I have done. I thought it would be nice to have all 3 years of the first gen Camaro's. I was going to restore them and give one each to my daughters. They never showed much interest therefore I sold my 68 and 69 for down payments on a house for them instead. I have worked all of my spare time during the last 10 years to these projects. The 67 was going to be my best one built. I am at the point in my life that it isn't that fun anymore working on my back and over the hood every weekend and evening. I have been approached by a guy that would like to swap straight across his cherry 68 Camaro(only problem is I don't like the yellow color) that is ready to enjoy cruising. I have about $52,000 in mine already and still need $15,000 to complete. If I were to sell it once completed would I be better off to get a better price once completed or just try to sell/trade it as is to keep from loosing any more money. When I first came to Pro-touring there was a 69 shell with the same mods as what I have on my car that sold for $25,000(at least that is what he wrote back as selling it for). Mine has motor and tranny in it included. Any advise is helpful. I don't want anyone to think that this is a way to post my car for sale. I have enough posts to advertise it in the "for sale" section if I wanted to. I would just like to get some advise as to what others on this site might do in this situation.
Thanks
Mike

dont trade...
unless its what you like all around.
OR trade and repaint it.. if you dont want to repaint(easily could go up to 15k unless you go cheap) then just finish it.

I would put a cover on it and forget about it, next thing you know you WILL get the itch to work on it I can guarantee it, then go ahead and finish it the way you started it. You know what you did to it and there are no surprises..If you try to sell it out right unfinished you will lose plenty of $$$$

You would probably be bored with a plane jane car (I would). I say finish yours and enjoy it.

Yeah, If I were to repaint someone elses car I would paint my own. I would only need a couple thousand more to have mine finished. I wasn't so heart broke when I sold the other 2 cars because I always had another one to work on. I agree I might "REALLY" regret getting rid of this one and end up with someone else's junk.

Honestly WHY 15k more, if your into it 50k+ buy a good car cover, give it a rest, look for cheaper "fun" let the car idle for s few days, weeks, years, then as your not burntout. rethink, revise, and reinvent.
Some insite on how far along you are. just how close to "Cruising " is it?
can you displace you idea of the best piece yet and get it running and make it a useable project over a tedious labor whore.
Is it you want 5k in interior or can you buy some carpet, redye some door panels, buy a head liners and do some touchup and it works. Are you trying for a complete corner burner, track monster or just fun daily driver type driveline. if its slated for a 5k manual setup , why not throw in a decent shifter and an automatic and drive while getting over the project burnout.
If your not up on the 68, take methodical pictures, make a web spot to put them up and list it for sale or trade at your price not what you think it would get, someone will see it posted for say discounted 50k needs finished, or possible partial trade and some cash.
Ill bet if you just let it sit for few weeks/months, tinker only when you feel the actual fun compulsion to, like fix that one little thing on the left door or wire up a stereo head unit, what ever.
sounds like your project has turned into a second job and you need a vacation.

After looking at your car, if you dont have the custom stuff for the suspension, slap clean ,rebuilt stock stuff on, if you dont have all the aftermarket parts, look for easier way t omake it run and roll. Your body looks done for the most part, get it in etching epoxy primer to seal it up, driver her in suede for a year, tuned up stock parts dont hurt and can come right back off after you recharge, and just let the plan lay for a while, most people just run out of cash and get the vacation that way, it looks like your 80% there.
From what I see your going to regret selling it.
And you will rip the otherone apart anyway, come on your a hot rodder liek us all, the next one wont be your way and tada back in it again.

Actually it is ready to run. I have a little plumbing left to start it. My problem is I have been refurbishing 2 homes for my daughters for the last year and have until this Summer before I can even think of getting back to working on it again. All that is left is paint and interior and glass. You are right. It just isn't as fun as it used to be.
