I am jumping on the deal for Forgelines...

I was just wondering if someone was running SO3P or SP3P and could send me some pictures so I can get an idea of what they look like on a car... I am probably buying the SO3P because they look a little more muscle-esq than the SP3Ps, but pictures of cars with the actual wheels always goes a long way.

They are going on a 66' GTO btw.

Thanks everyone.

P.S. DriverzInc already has my buisness, they have a good rep and so far the customer service has been excellent, just FYI to the other retailers out there.

What sizes are you going to run?

Right now I we are looking at 18X8 front and 18X10 rear with 245/275s.

The dilemma coming up is we don't know if the 10 inch wide wheel will fit the stock wells.

We are doing a 67 GTO Convertible in the shop right now. Had to go with 9s and 275s.

The 9 is the "safer" fit with that year GTO. 10's are possible with the correct BS but none the less, they are a tight fit.

I came up with a way to get wider tires possibly in the rear with out touching the frame, although you would have to cut the inside wheel wells. But like justin said the 9 is a safer fit, I think the rear tubs are slightly different. Cant want to see this, we need more GTOs with some nice wheels thrown on them!

One thing I always tell customers too, is if you are going to run a 275 wide tire anyway, run it on a 9" as the tire bulge will look "correct" and bulge out nicley on the 9", like it belongs on a 9". The sidwalls tend to be more "square" on a 10" and can, at times, look stretched. Nitto's sidewall profile is better than most, so it looks okay, but they look at home on a 9", or 9.5", and if you are not too caught up with having to have the 10" in the rear, the 9" will do you better anyway. I think it might have something to do with the "keeping up with the Jones' mentality. "I have a 10 in the rear", but does it fit? That's the important thing.

On my 66, I was able to fit a 20x10 with a 285/30/20 but I had to roll the fenders, and pound in the inner wheel well a bit to make it work. If you are looking for the easy, slam dunk fit, the 9"-9.5 is the way to go, and it will still look great!

Live action shot.

As I mentioned, one of the cars were doing right now is getting wheels, Speedtech suspension, Wilwood brakes, new engne, bla, bla, bla!

Today we were mocking up the tires in the wheelwell. These are 19 X9" with 275 / 35 / 19 and BARELY fit! Maybe a half inch on each side at most.

We test fit 10s with 275s....no way!

Aren't we putting a set of New Gen Fivehundreds 18x8/19x9's on that car?

So after hearing just how tight a 10" really is, I decided to move back to the 9.5" and just have them re-hooped later if/when we decide to minitub.

I am avoiding cutting on the car as much as possible.

I would be worried about a 9.5 also. A 9.5 will make the section width 3/10 wider, which would take the 1" of clearance to .70 clearance, which is about 3/8 per side!

Also, something else we are doing today is project planning with a member with a 66 GTO, and he measured his rear today and it is 1" more narrow then ours, and both are original rears. You will need to verify the width on your rear as there are 2 possible widths for those 66/67 GTOs. One is 1" wider then the other. With clearance so tight you will need to know exaclty which you have as the difference in the rear width would absorb half of the clearance with a 9" wheel.

Aint this fun!

Lol, I am in the middle of Iraq and don't have access to the car.

Gah, this is not an issue you want to run into with $1000+ a piece wheels.
