Hello, I had a question as to what type of plastic that would be better suited for the use of anti-freeze? I am planning to make a coolant reservoir for my 1978 Trans-Am and was trying to figure out a suitable material. I am thinking of using ABS plastic, but does anyone have a better types of plastics that are easily bent and shaped?

Why not just save yourself the leak headache and buy one you like? They're not expensive...

I can't think of an easily bent , readily available plastic that would be good to make a reservoir..
Can you use something from another application..??
Like a factory production car ??
Have you considered a metal overflow container ??
There's a lot of them available in the aftermarket / performance industry ..

Summit has nice plastic ones for around $20 I think.

Thanks for the input, I am looking to clean-up the engine bay and I want to make a reservoir that is out of sight, something sim. to a fourth gen. T-A where it is mounted under the battery. I am looking at ABS as it seems to be easily available. Does anyone know if the coolant could mess up the plastic or the other way around?
You should be fine with ABS. Do you plan to vacuum mold this or what? I'm intriged as most people just buy one and hide it. There really are many choices out there for you. Good luck though
